  1. Forgot to mention, you can also send SMS samples of your upholstery materials, which is what I did.
  2. They’re in Utah now? I thought they were In Oregon. They sent me samples for my 64 Buick Special Deluxe. Exact fabric, perfect. They have some upholstery related services also. Very pricey, but with the money I saved doing so much of the work myself, I’m going for it.
  3. Welcome to the club Adam l. Looks like you have your hands full.
  4. I be used 1/4” masking tape and individually taped each rib making sure the tape is tucked in the corner at the base of the rib. Then cut the tape with a razor, Xacto knife, or one of those small retractable knives where when they get dull you break off the tip to get a fresh edge. The big key here is to do maybe 2 light coats of paint. It’s not a wear surface, you just need color. If you go too heavy the paint will bridge the tape and you’ll end up having to recut the paint at the tape line to prevent pulling some of the painted surface when you remove the tape, and that won’t look as clean. As Dan says, very tedious.
  5. Not sure if you saw what I did. It’s posted in the General forums under cupholder/wireless speaker holder for center console. It only helps the driver though.
  6. My main concern is the comment in the exterior description “some rust in the usual places” and the bubbling at the wheel arches and the lower trunk lid lip. The bad lighting on many of the photos is common on that site but you still can zoom in on them to get a closer look. I think for me, the rust issues would be the deal breaker for that price.
  7. If you go to the cars and parts for sale leads category and open the Mecum Jan. 2024 post, by DragCat check the interior of the 72. That might be the holder you’re referring to. My only concern might be the integrity of the ashtray assembly with the weight of 2 large drinks.
  8. Thanks for the posts. Just finished watching.
  9. Wonder if it’s a Hot Rod Drag Week competitor. If it was, it should’ve got an award for being the classiest.
  10. Probably around a 4000psi mix with a minimum 27 day cure time for the concrete to come up to its spec. The extra 3” is a little insurance.
  11. My 4 post came with 16- 3/4x 6” wedge type anchors. I spoke with Bendpak, about it because I had also ordered the optional caster kit. They said they came with anchors, but were optional. To get one wide enough and long enough to take my 84 GMC crew cab dually, meant I ended up with a 14000# lift. The truck probably weighs in at a little over 5000#. Mine isn’t anchored and it’s solid. If I was going to use it at capacity, I’d anchor it.
  12. Interesting, it looks like the bottom of the wedge is maybe 3” below the surface. Definitely wouldn’t want to do that with a concrete pour of unknown origin or mix design.
  13. Wow I wasn’t aware of that. I’m familiar with the Hilti anchors. Even down to 4”? I was worried with leverage and a somewhat small footprint to anchor with. Did you use their 3/4 anchors.
  14. Mines a 36x48 with 10’ eves and 16’ at the peak. It’s a metal building. I would have loved to do a stick building but the additional cost was too far beyond my budget. We were building our house at the same time. I did get a 780’ attatched garage out of that deal. If I get a 2 post now I’ll have to cut my floor to pour a couple pads to anchor to, plus the cost of the lift. Aside from perimeter footings my shop floor is about 6”. Not enough to safely hold anchors to support a 2 post. That’s why I was looking at a rolling bridge jack. With a little hassle it’ll still allow me to do some of the things I could with a 2 post. Being retired and my wife retiring soon I don’t have the budget I had 2 years ago. I do appreciate both of your input. It makes total sense. Have you noticed Joe that when car guys that live in your area find out you have a lift their eyes light up? No problem, they’re welcome to it.
  15. You would if you wanted to raise both ends, but for suspension or brake work, 1 end at a time is fine for me. My runways are pretty wide, and 1 is fixed and the other slides to adjust the track width. I guess if I wanted to have both ends raised then I could tighten up the track width to have the room for jack stands.
  16. Just wondering if you decided on a lift yet. Don’t get me wrong, I love my 4 post, but Joe is correct about a 2 post being more versatile. I’m currently looking at a rolling bridge jack for mine to enable me to raise the car off the lift for some suspension work. The hand pump type are going for around $1000, with the air operated hydraulics, of which I don’t need, in the $1500-$2000 range. Also some seem to be brand specific. I must admit that I do feel safer under a 4 post though. But hey, this is California the “all about feelings state”.
  17. Wishing all the best for the Rangers. Have a safe trip Rob. Hopefully the weather cooperates.
  18. You make good point. Now you have me thinking of a way to do that.
  19. Just finished this insert for my console. I decided to leave the factory AM radio alone and go with a wireless speaker with Bluetooth. They sound surprisingly good. Was wanting a cup holder also. I hinged it to have access to what little space is underneath. I just had to R+R the lid and latch to drop it in. No mods to the console and the lid works as it should. I will admit to having a stupid amount of time fitting it because nothing on these consoles straight or square. All 4 inside corners are a different radius.
  20. I like it. I also like what appears to be discoloration in the metal. Because it says bare metal I’m assuming it needs a coating to prevent oxidation, unless someone chooses to let it age. I’m thinking about ordering one.
  21. Oh yes, Alice’s Restaurant is on our menu every year. Have the record album. Everyone gets to listen old school, on a turntable. Happy Thanksgiving 🦃
  22. Welcome John, glad you became a member. Mine was a 71 purchased in 74. About a year ago I decided I had to replace it. It took about 6 months because I was looking for the same color, top and interior to match what I had. Just found it in July and joined the club in August. Are you looking to replace what you had by color, interior and engine or does it not matter?
  23. That must be a show to see. I’ve seen a lot of magazine coverage on those and never once saw a First Gen. A lot of rare and super high dollar stuff there.
