    Kick panels

Were you still running a factory radio or aftermarket?
  2. Then there’s the poor owner of that nice crew cab that just happened to be in his way. If it’s not totaled then it’s going to have that Carfax blemish that will definitely hurt the value if it’s later sold. Foolish antics.
  3. It sounds to me like if you’re looking for something that both seals and bonds the channel to the quarter glass, then Willie’s suggestion of black silicone window sealant is the way to go. Bond it, let it cure then trim any excess with a razor blade.
  4. The Armour all was put on with a garden hose. The lower moldings are totally beat and held on with various types of screws. The missing tail panel trim, window crank and wheel well trim. I can understand the lack of trim on the wheel wells, because if you zoom in on the right quarter wheel well, there is no way you’re going to reshape the molding to fit. Hopefully it’s just a missing bump stop on the seat backs and they’re not bent. Definitely something thrown together to flip. Typical dealer antics. Whew!

    Heads

The second of the 4 initial photos shows the ring.
  6. I’ve been waiting for my floor mats and 1 key blank that I went to their facility to purchase in September. They assured me that there would be no shipping charges, we’ll see. If these were urgent I would’ve cancelled. Never had problems prior to 2020, but this is my second issue now, so I think I’m done. Aarons Monte on the cover is the only reason I’m looking forward to the 24 catalog.
  7. Good to know, I’m thinking about doing the same.
  8. You’re right about that. Wonder how much is in the motor. It would have to be a lot to make up for no heat or AC, the loose fitting upholstery, and the 10 bolt.
  9. I’m glad you brought that up Aaron, because something didn’t look right about that photo. That horizontal trim piece. Those sure are good looking mirrors though.
  10. Great job Aaron! I’ll be looking forward to my 24 catalog. By the way, my bowtie floor mats have been on backorder since September. Can you pull some strings on that?
  11. Anything with a carburetor does that after sitting a week or so. The added ethanol in today’s fuels (here in Cali at least, not sure about other states) causes it to evaporate quicker. I figure the small amount of additional cranking gives a little more time to get some oil pumping before it fires.
  12. Thanks for the info. I see the HP showing must be net, as opposed to gross on the air cleaner label.
  13. Was the driver side remote but not the passenger side?
  14. I wasn’t aware of that. I don’t remember seeing any with them.
  15. They came out nice. What are your side mirrors off of.
  16. Another thing to check, because it looks like you have an aftermarket air cleaner, and that spacer on top of the carburetor looks home made, is to set your air cleaner back on making sure it is down all the way but not fastened to the carburetor, then either open the throttle all the way by hand or have someone in the car press your accelerator pedal to the floor and see if your air cleaner is moving. Or you could look at the underside of your air cleaner base for signs of the linkage interfering with the underside. Also, the cable should not be tight under the nylock nut that attatches it to the carburetor, it should be allowed to pivot on the shaft. Also check to see if the end of the throttle cable is getting pulled all the way into the sleeve and hanging up there.
  17. It would be helpful if you send 2 photos with the air cleaner removed. 1 with someone holding the accelerator to the floor, and 1 with the pedal released. There is a good view of the kick down cable for the transmission but not so for the accelerator cable. That kick-down cable doesn’t look right also.
  18. That is really coming out nice. I like the attention to detail and the “can never have enough protection” mentality.
  19. Well normally if I’m out with the car, it’s to go to cruise ins or some local shows to hang out so the speaker goes in the glove box and my drink goes with me. Then I close the lid and it all still looks factory. I think the console design is so nice looking that I didn’t want to modify it.
  20. I did a post in the Brakes and Suspension category looking for opinions on a couple types of bushings on Feb.1. Haven’t heard anything yet. Hope some just missed it, so I thought I’d bring it up here.
  21. Yes, I planned on one at a time, which will be a bit of a hassle because I’m going to box them for a sway bar. It just means 2 trips to my cousin who is a certified welder. Which do you recommend doing first, the uppers or lowers? I’m hoping the sway bar comes with templates to drill the holes so I can get the correct position of the inserts. I plan on doing the uppers one at a time also.
  22. That’s why I’m doing the rears first on mine.
  23. I’ve had State Farm for home and vehicles for over 45 years with 0 complaints. Prior to 2004 I had Hagerty on my Camaro only. When we sold our house to purchase property to build, I had to store the Camaro in a friends garage. I put a non op status with the DMV so I only wanted fire, theft and comp insurance. Hagerty wouldn’t insure me because the car wasn’t stored at my residence. I understand their reasoning behind it. I ended up using State Farm with an agreed value. When I finally brought it back after my house and shop were completed I continued with the State Farm classic insurance, of which I now have the Monte on also, both having an agreed value. I’ve noticed that they have partnered with Hagerty now with a coverage called Classic +, but is only available in certain states. Not mine. As for roadside and flatbed towing i have a separate policy with AAA which covers my wife and I for anything we may be driving.
  24. Thanks for sharing. I was unaware of this build. If you go to the Autotopiala website they have his first complete build. A 70 Mach1. It was about 4 years ago, also a SEMA car, but this was done in his garage. He’s pretty much self taught and quite humble. There is a large monthly cruise-in out in the Orange County area of So Cal that he’s brought the Mustang and the Ford GT to. Not sure about this latest build. Check out the Comet brake failure crash. Not too smart.
