  1. Large car show at the old muscle car museum in Port Charlotte, FL. Great time. Many old cars I haven't seen in a few years. Lots of lookers and conversation on my Monte. Finally now getting to enjoy some shows and conversations. Really proud of my car. Took a long time to get here. I'll post pics later.
  2. Hi looking for a mirror on driver side you can adjust from inside thanks.
  3. thank you also getting ready to do my 72 rocker trim. will search for the clips. the back trunk lid above the bumper, was a mofo.
  4. I rebuilt my 1972 402 motor. A few things that I did to increase the horsepower was - Bored to 30 over - Silv O Lite cast aluminum Pistons - Dome crown 8cc - Bore 4.125 in - Compression ratio is 10.25:1 - oil pump Melling high volume - Camshaft - Mellings M-select class 1 - Intake .270 lift 288 Duration just to name a few things. Car runs fine but decided to give it a little more spark. Curious will the dyna-module affect my stock coil which in my HEI distributor? I just replaced the coil but it is a stock coil not an upgrade. The 72's, as everyone knows in the big blocks, horsepower was grossly reduced. Just have to give her a little steroids! Thanks for any help.

  8. Going to a local car rally held every monday here in north fort myers fl. First time since paint and chrome always a great turn out usually there is 2 or3 1st gen montes showing off two will take pics.
  9. I am looking for the 3peice chrome trim on a 72 monte carlo just below the trunk lid that runs tail light to tail light. I have some ding in it.
  10. still learning, still navigating the site. thank you for the compliment. no its not factory. she was light blue originally. interior was blue also. I changed it over. other than color and tires and a few nickel dime engine components, I kept her original look. I did bore the motor out and increased horsepower up to about 425 from the stock horsepower while keeping the stock look. Its been a challenge. I bought this vehicle 3 years ago from a old car dealership who presented it as show quality. My great mistake for not asking for real time video when i bought it, sight unseen. Paid market value for the car in which doubled in bringing the car to where it is now but thats how it goes sometimes. I love the car.

Hey Mark, i am here going on 15 years and still learning!  Your car looks Great!  Reason i asked if it was originally black is because there was NO black in 72 and had to be special ordered.  Also in your vin it should have a U if its an original 402 car if it has a W then originally it was a 454 car, like mine. I have a 72, W code custom. Cant wait to meet you and see her!!!    Welcome to the club Again!!!

  11. Greetings! I'm a new member to the club. I've been a first generation Monte Carlo fan since I was 18 years old. I've had a few of these beautiful cars in my life and as the saying goes, " hind sight is 20/20". Many years I wanted another one, they were always out of my price range. 3 years ago I finally saved up enough to buy a 72 402 big block, bucket console, triple black car which needed a lot of work. Finally finished restoring her this year. Looking forward to meeting and talking with other members with their beautiful "girls". More pics coming soon, finally got on the website, had some difficulties logging in.
