  1. I forgot to tell you, they manufacture the cables that many others sell. Dan
  2. American Autowire- Positive is 21745, Negative is 21760. Dan
  3. I have the part numbers you need. They are on the cables. I'll try to remember to look tomorrow evening. Dan Edit: 10/12/18, I checked mine and there are numbers on the cables, but they aren't the numbers that American Autowire uses for ordering.
  4. Willie, is it for a top post, or the heavy duty battery with side posts for an SS? I called American Autowire with my buildsheet codes for our SS cables. They are longer than Chevelle. Dan
  5. Somebody here posted at some time that a reservoir from a '75 and later Nova worked well. I saw a '76 at a show recently and got this pic. Dan
  6. Yes, I agree. I went to a car show at the Illinois Veterans Home yesterday and they always allow burnouts as the cars leave the show area, but still on the property. I took my turn and the car really came alive. I should have asked somebody to get video. I did a little more detailing Friday. Dan
  7. Welcome back. It's good to see you haven't forgotten us. Dan
  8. After zooming in on your photo, I see the screw hole for the rear clip. There should be another at the front edge and one in between those 2. Dan
  9. Here it is. This side goes against the car. Dan
  10. Yes, the holes underneath are for screws, not clips. For the top edge, there are three teardrop shaped clips that fasten to the quarter panel with screws. The big end goes up and the lip of the trim slips down behind them. You'll have to layout and drill a hole for each. I don't see the factory holes in your pic. They must have gotten filled in. I'll get a pic of one for you in bit. Dan
  11. Thank you, guys. The rear axle is working out great. It's a fun car. My new son inlaw had never ridden in it, until last night. I let him drive it in town for a bit, and then we switched. I may have scared him a little when I mashed it after I'd had to stop at an intersection. Dan

    Great job! Dan
  13. Completed the rearend installation. I like it! Dan
  14. It's my understanding that the original air shocks were gray. Dan
  15. My 454 is a little noisy with the retro fit roller lifters and the roller tip rockers, but not too bad. I'll be following this to hear how you do with the roller rockers. Dan
  16. It might be from my car...... Right. Dan
  17. I was able to get the 2.56 posi out this evening in about 2 hrs. I should be able to start putting the 3.55 under the car Thursday evening. Dan
  18. Thanks to all! My daughter and I took the SS to town Saturday night for our local Throwback Cruise on Broadway. It's a twice a summer get together to get alot of people out of the house for the evening and cruise Broadway like we did years ago. It was a fun evening. The police had to bust some that were running with no mufflers, etc. They were busy. There's always some that have to push the limits. Dan

Those are great numbers on the motor. It seems the engine builder really meant 2 more months, not weeks. The paint looks good. It'll look much better as it all goes back together. Great work! Dan
  20. No plans for an overdrive at this time. I need to apply some more labels on parts under the car, some paint marks I found when I took the car apart, and get pics. Some closer pics under the hood..... Dan
  21. Thanks to all for the great comments. I worked on the 3.55 posi 12 bolt again today and it's ready to replace the original 2.56 posi. The 3.55 wasn't as ready to go as a previous owner claimed. I pulled the new axles a few weeks ago and found the new seals had been damaged and not oiled or greased when assembled. That made me pull everything out and flush it clean. The rear end had been blasted and painted before I got it and there was sand in the axle tubes. I replaced one bearing, the yoke, and all seals. Dan
  22. I took the SS to a very big cruise in yesterday in Monmouth, Illinois. It was from 7 AM-10 PM. I had a great time and was able to talk to alot of people that love Montes. I took it to a show a couple weeks ago with 364 vehicles. Another fun day with an organized cruise through town and past a few nursing homes the night before.
