  1. I make and sell the 4 speed conversion detent plate for the shifter. It also converts the shifter to a True Slap shifter so you can slap shift and hit positive stops at second gear and third gear. Unlike other designs by other companies, you don't have to squeeze the trigger at all to hit the stops. Dan 573-248-1389 dpjfabts3@gmail.com
  2. Over 440 sales and still no returns. Thanks to all of my customers. Dan
  3. Welcome sir! We can all enjoy your car. Dan
  4. Does anyone here have a 1970 factory small block 400 with a 4 speed, or a build sheet for one? Dan
  5. I have several SS454 build sheets with the 5k tach. Not sure why they built them both ways on purpose, but they did. Dan
  6. Great find! What's the original color? The interior color is like mine was. Dan
  7. I broke 400 sales of just the Chevrolet detents last week. Still have zero refund requests! These detents are getting more popular through word of mouth from customers, and I have many repeat customers. Thanks to all of you! Here is just one of the many feedback messages I've gotten from guys that race. Also, the guys that had never before heard their tires bark when hitting second are really having fun. Dan
  8. What do you use to restore the finish on tanks and hardware? Dan
  9. Bump. I always enjoy when I get messages or feedback from customers using my detent plates. They work great! Dan
  10. The long, hex shaped nuts are called coupling nuts. The company I was getting the ball swivels from had shutdown when Covid hit, but I got more from them recently. When I restored our SS, I used new coil springs. Once the car was completely together again, the original ball swivel linkage was 1" too short. The back of the car must have been slightly higher than original, and with the original linkage connected, the valve was held in the exhaust position. The shock absorbers need a minimum of 25 psi, so I removed the linkage and operated the valve by hand, with the car sitting on all 4 tires, and put just a little air in the shocks. The bumper probably raised maybe an inch. I then measured and made a 4" linkage to replace the original 3" linkage. Since springs vary, anyone that's wanting to connect the valve to the linkage should do the same as I did and find out what length you need for the linkage. Keep in mind that the actuating arm on the valve has a slot for adjustment, but it's not alot of adjustment. Try it to see if your original linkage will work. Dan
  11. The spatter paint I bought isn't a great match for the factory applied paint, so I didn't spray it in the trunk. I forgot to post earlier that I replaced the reproduction cushion grip steering wheel last summer with an original 15" cushion grip. It's in excellent condition and I really like it. I had some decent looking original wheel center caps, but I went ahead and put some new ones on. They look good. I was able to take a ride to town last evening and the car ran great. This was only the third time out this year. The weather has been pretty crappy on my days off. Got a few new pics. Dan
  12. Thanks you for the text, Rob. Much appreciated! Mr. Bowles, I replied to your email and I'll be glad to answer any questions you may have. Searsman, I can be reached at 573-248-1389 or at dpjfabts3@gmail.com It's not looking good for the trip to Carlisle, so I really doubt I'll be making the 28 hr round trip. I can accept PayPal and credit cards by sending you the invoice of your choice, or I'd be glad to talk to anyone on the phone, 7 days a week. Phone calls are always good. I've still never had anyone ask for a refund. They work great! Dan
  13. These detents plates have been selling very well. I've now sold over 300 of my Chevrolet designs, with a satisfaction guarantee, and no one had asked for a refund. With the shipping cost increases, I had to raise the shipping charge to $8 in the states. Total price is $98, which is still less than many companies sell my competitor's parts for, and my design is an improvement over their design. I now have over a dozen detents for different makes and models, and I'm working on more. Thank you to all of my customers. Dan
  14. They look correct, but there are 2 different length tanks. The longer one is too long. Dan
  15. Excellent job on the restoration. You should be very proud! Dan
  16. Welcome to the site. Nice car! Dan

  18. I think the white one belongs to a Facebook friend, William Pastoor. Dan
  19. PM sent. I've sold 276 of the Chevrolet detents, and about 80 more for Buicks and Oldsmobiles. All were sold with a satisfaction guarantee and I've not had anyone ask for a refund. Dan
