    For what you can get a new unit for these days, just get a new one. Turn the cpu in for recycle and donate the monitor.

    Paul, I believe Vaughn & Mark's 71's have the 5k tachs, could be mistaken though.

    Sorry, but that is far from true. Mine is 938 code 5k redline with LS5 and all documented on the buildsheet. I have seen/heard of more LS5's with the 5k than the 5.5k also. Definitely not a rule or proof of anything.

    I actually even got instructions with my Holley EFI on those specific parts. Came with a special harness for it as well.

    I went with the MSD small base style so the EFI can control the timing and I have the 6AL-2 and this coil.

    This is the specs my engine guy used. I thought it was a custom grind, maybe not.

    I know I read on here about having to change the distributor gear sometimes but I can't find the thread. What is the story with that, I am gonna be switching to the MSD soon and want to be sure I don't skip anything. Also, the issue I am having with the car not starting appears to be a bad module on the HEI that's in there.

    What exhaust are you going to use instead of the flowmaster? straight back and dump?
