  1. Type in Google Web Store search box from Link below in upper left hand corner "photobucket" and a menu will open offering you a selection of prompts. Prompt "Photobucket Embedded Fix". Save and your done. When using Chrome as your Browser, this did work for me (so far). I had avoided this as I am not a Computer whiz but finally viewed the threads and decided to give it a try. You don't have to go anywhere else but to Link below to Fix Photobucket Pic's at least for now when using Chrome as your Browser. Once I was finished, I checked FGMCC Club site, found a older Post of mine and guess what, my Avatar Pic's miraculously returned..........................(for now anyways) Here is the real Test, let's see if my Pic's show up at the bottom of this message. Drum Roll please.............. https://chrome.google.com/webstore/category/extensions?hl=en Doug
  2. Here is another Calculator Tool to help you . If you know what your Drive & Driven gears in Transmission are, it will help in deciding what course of action to take. I had the same issue when I replaced the Rear End & gears to 331:1 ratio 12 Bolt Posi from a 273:1 ratio 10 Bolt if I remember right. I ended up putting a Gear Reduction devise between speedo cable at Tranny connected to devise and to Transmission. Damned if I can remember what the Technical name is. I was way off and brought actual speed within 1% of accuracy. Pretty sure you will get a lot of help on this. http://www.tciauto.com/tc/speedometer-gear-calculator/ Doug
  3. Yes, The chrome louver is what I am looking for. Now I will have to see how to replace when I go over and inspect lap vent more thoroughly. Really appreciate the help guys clearing this up for me. Doug
  4. No wonder I couldn't find it! I had assumed the passenger & driver side were different. Live & learn. Thanx for helping me clarify that Dan. Doug
  5. I am looking for the vent louver in chrome. I am just dressing her up a little with the chrome louvers which I had installed on the passenger side lap vent. Also added the 1970 center A/C and dash side vents with shut offs as I like them better than the 72 design. Makes things look a little busier in the cabin. Doug
  6. Hey all, Pretty much completed my wish wish less some specific pieces I am interested in obtaining. Right now I am in search of a lower chrome driver lap vent diverter for the housing. This is the one below the steering column. I have done some searching but can't come up with anything other than the passenger side lap vent chrome diverter. I have seen the driver side in chrome diverter in pic's of other 1st Gen Montes & want to add it. Anyone have an idea where I may be able to get it either aftermarket or OEM in excellent condition, please let me know. While the passenger side seems easy to obtain, the driver side is much harder to find. Doug
  7. I would be very leery without some guarantees myself. For that money, he should be able to provide some documentation as to the Blocks condition. As far as price? Seems a little steep to me for a Core. All the best what ever you do decide. Doug
  8. Neutral Safety Switch.................. Plus I had an ongoing issue with weak engine cranking when engine got hot. I shielded the Starter but still turned over like the battery was weak but eventually would always start. This was after addition of a new Delco heavy duty Starter. What ultimately happened was I gave the problem to a Shop who replaced the Ground Battery Cable and Battery Post with a more robust cable/connector. He also fine tuned my timing. He claimed that the cable did not have the ability to transfer the power needed from the battery (when engine hot) to the Starter. A simple explanation for a more complex problem. But never had another issue since. Doug
  9. I had replaced mine several years ago with a new sticker. The one in pic is the duplicate that was typed in by the eBAY seller using my info and similar or authentic type (so they said). You can see the address on envelope where purchased and can't remember eBAY handle name. I am sure you can type info in yourself using typical typewriter but you may not like the font style. I suggest you search those offering Label and inquire if they are capable of duplicating font with your info provided on Label. Doug
  10. Got up this morning with the intent to wash/wax the Monte for a Car Show Saturday. Pulled her out of the garage & while sitting there idling, the car died. A new experience for me. After a few attempts I realized something was wrong. As long as I kept throttle above 1500 when not under load, I could keep her running. But once I put her in gear, I had to keep the RPM up above 1500 to keep her from stalling out. So I drove over to my brothers feathering gas pedal all the way to prevent stalling. I ended up pulling the top off of Carb to see if there was anything I could recognize as being a problem. What I found was a float that had an amount of fuel in it. So bought another float, put Carb back together and runs GREAT again. I will try the wash/wax thing again tomorrow & trust no more issues. Wish me Luck...................................... Doug
  11. Sorry I hadn't offered more info or asked questions James. I assumed you had already isolated the problem to the heater motor. That's whats great about this Club. You drop the ball, there is always someone there to pick it back up. All the best finding your problem & hope it is as simple as replacing a Fuse. Doug
  12. Mine is also air conditioned and the blower motor is still located in engine compartment on the passenger side firewall behind the inner fender, unless you have something else in mind. Any air blowing into cabin comes from blower motor and routed into interior, Unless something aftermarket, there is nothing under the dash inside cabin that blows air. There are vacuum hoses under dash that directs air but no blower motors. Doug
  13. If you are referring to the Heater Fan Motor, it comes out from the Firewall side tucked back in behind passenger inner fender. If a non-A/C car, you can I am told get to it without pulling passenger side inner fender, otherwise inner fender needs to come out. Doug
  14. Nice looking car Dale. I too like using U Tube instructional videos. I have been learning how to touch up the exterior paint chips. I hope I am as skilled as yourself when that time approaches. A very nice job on the Interior and engine is looking fantastic. You and your Son should be proud of your accomplishments. Can't wait to hear how she runs out when all back together. Keep up the GREAT work your doing............ Doug
  15. I have heard that same problem in many previous discussions. Seems to be rather common now when changing Unit. I can't remember if it was determined someone found a solution on a Sending Unit that worked without modification. Hopefully they will reply if seeing your message. Doug.
  16. I believe there are a few Companies who make aftermarket complete A/C units with one being Vintage Air. If your looking for (OEM), I don't think they are commonly found and the installation would be very difficult and costly IMO............ I'm sure others will reply with more complete information for you. Doug
  17. I have a used set of those plastic fasteners for the rear tail panel trim if needed. Just let me know. Here is a pic of the plastic clip used. Doug
  18. Nice job Aaron. Jealous I had not been able to attend this one. Unfortunately, I was not able to coordinate with the Management Companies a schedule that would allow me to attend this years Meet. Apparently an Emergency on my part does not constitute an Emergency on theirs............. This was a problem during the 2015 Penticton Meet but were much more accommodating at that time that allowed me to attend. Looked like all had a wonderful time and came away with great memories. But that's been the norm for the WM's and evident by You/Aprils dedication to making it so enjoyable each and every year. The participation numbers are a clear testament to the effort(s) of the Coordinator and appreciated by everyone who has had the opportunity to attend any of the WM's. You may not see the gratitude but certainly the participation each year speaks volumes................ See you and all others in The Dalle's where I attended my 1st Western Meet. Doug
  19. I can't answer all your questions Mike but, I recently had my factory A/C repaired by a local repair shop that included a upgraded POA Valve, Expansion Valve, High Speed Relay and Blower Motor. I don't have the knowledge to investigate how to determine if a blower motor is weak and not spinning needed RPM's or what those revolutions should be. However, I did have my mechanic perform a RPM test on the blower motor and checked it against a 65 Chev with factory A/C and the 65 Chev's motor ran at a higher RPM. Based on that, I replaced the blower motor in my 72 with the correct replacement for my application and the performance increase was very noticeable. If competent, you can also measure current flowing from/to blower motor and High Speed Fan Relay and compare with factory specs if you can get them. The other option on fan velocity thru vents might be the material that seals around all those under dash outlets may be deteriorated to the point your A/C is escaping prematurely. Bruce is correct. If the door isn't opening for A/C, you will get that air thru the defrost vents in the dash pad instead of thru A/C vents. PS - Just as a precaution, I replaced my High Speed Relay and the volume of air did not increase, so that was not the problem. Wished I had a manual that spelled out all the performance specs as it would make it much easier to diagnose these issues. Best of Luck................. Doug
  20. Once the connector is detached from rear of Radio, remove the screw holding "L" Bracket to Radio from Dash, remove Radio Knobs, remove outer nuts from Radio Shafts and remove the inner nuts. Slide Radio back toward Firewall while manipulating it to clear obstructions until it is cleared from behind Dash to drop. You can leave "L" Bracket attached to Radio. Your biggest issue will be clearance and just needs manipulated to fall out. Doug
  21. I think what your referring to is the gadget used when A/C Compressor is running. It jumps acceleration when compressor pump starts putting load on engine at low idle, keeping engine from stalling out, I think@! Doug
  22. I need to do a better job proof reading! You are correct Phil and thanx for correcting me. Doug
  23. I opted for Doug's when I upgraded and bolted right up. They fit great & believe the P/N was 333-C (Ceramic Coated). Beware when stated Chevelle, Monte Carlo in part description as there is a difference between the two fitments. Been on for at least 8 years and no issues. Doug
  24. Today I completed my project(s)! Tomorrow I wash her up and start detailing her getting ready for the Western Meet. Inner Fenders got painted today (the weather cooperated), checked A/C and works so much better now with the. new Blower Motor. Installed Inner Fenders and put her back together. Long day(s) but have been worth the effort. Now I think I can relax a little bit. Oh yeah and dressed the 2 front tires. Pic is a before & after of tires. Doug
  25. The Mercury Switch is encased and built into the body of the lamp housing and yes, both trunk & Hood Lamps have Mercury Switches. Sorry, don't have pic's but had installed a second Hood Lamp a few Months ago. With the Hood up, see if your getting power to the Lamp Assy using a simple test light. I'm guessing it isn't the Mercury Switch that's the problem. The possibility of the bulbs burnt out is also more likely. Doug
