  1. no , we carry repolished sets , as well we are a full line trim parts dealer and sell under catalog prices Leo
  2. Jared , we had the full set on our website , having some issues right now with the site long story , however i can get you a pic or good description over the phone , it has clearance in the very center i believe for the trunk lock retainer clip , you can easily see the differance , it is a rare piece i never thought there was a differance then i realized there was , give me a call Jared , got the plates also talk to you soon my friend , as far as the 72 rear trim Nos used or reconditioned are the only options right now Leo
  3. Jared the upper and lower trim pieces are not the same the upper has clearance on the inner lip to clear the trunk when closed i believe they will work either way and not cause a problem , i have a complete rear 71 ss 454 NOS set , i currently have a deposit on the 6 pc set from a loyal customer so it is sold , only set i have ever seen or had , the after market sets are not currently available , we are having several sets reconditioned right now from original gm pieces Leo
  4. yes Bruce i just got the email Leo
  5. Ritz Dye available at most chain stores works flawless
  6. we sell the plastic clips Tony is talking about ,i never sell the clips that come with the Covax mouldings i inform people about the clips and offer them the better clip, i have complained to the manufacturer to no avail , i am going to send the a huge pile back someday as i refuse to sell them with the mouldings , makes a big differance when you install the products you sell Leo
  7. most if not ALL , reproduction parts are made in Tiawan , and most sold and engineered in the USA , Tiawan is not China , they are a true example of a free democracy , is that not what many of our brave soldiers died for to spread democracy and freedom around the world , I HAVE NEVER SEEN 1 REPRODUCTION PART come from japan there may be some from japan and or china , but most come from a free country with hard working people , TRY TO FIND AN AMERICAN TO STAND BEHIND A PRESS 12 HOURS A DAY good luck with that Leo
  8. reminds me of the 1973-87 chevy truck grilles aftermarket from the 1970's Leo
  9. i was always hopeing they would have made the 4 door monte , there were actually prototypes built , gotta wonder if i am serious Leo
  10. they were red red red all of them , we have tons of originals with the red still present and some faded , and Rob NO there were no 4 speed ss cars NO factory convertables and NO ls6 production line installed 454 engines they are elusive because they dont exist ,most likely the ribs were added for strength and then painted red to hide them from view Leo
  11. the color of the painted portion of the vinyl roof trim is the same as the roof color , on painted roofs it would be white as all painted roofs were white , there are 2 screws used one at the top corner near the back of the side window , there is a small metal clip at the lower end of the z moulding that also screws to the car body , on most cars that have had work they were removed lost and replaced with studs Leo
  12. Terry check your email thanks Sincerely Leo
  13. we are checking right now , we have had the same problem in the past many of the big parts houses list chevelle parts as interchangable to the monte however when they arrive thay are chevelle only , i have not located a source new for the correct length lines , we are looking at some other sources right now ,old air products may be a good choice but i would make sure they are not chevelle as they will be short and need extensions made Leo
  14. Steve , i never noticed a differance , it could be something very minor , could be a slight differance in filler neck length as the trunk pans are identical but the back area as the trunk and back panel meet is different Leo
  15. Steve 175.00 from Koniks Klassiks , quality is good i have had zero issues i would have to get a shipping quote , give me a call if you wish Leo
  16. "Hey Leo got the parts now paint and install." Great glad everything arrived i believe the black cars were also semi gloss Leo
  17. woodward dream cruise , we have a good base of members to help ,and i believe we had a very good turnout ,it is simply the largest and best run car event in the world hands down ,i would have no problem helping organize Monte / Leo
  18. I have stored my 72 monte during the winter 5-6 months for 31 years here is my method 1. pull car in a nice dry rodent free garage 2. remove battery 3. close door problems i have had 1 carb rebuild after 15 years this is considered short term storage if you plan on storing the car for 6 months plus you will need to fog the motor etc but i have let some of my cars set for years and still had no major problems Leo
  19. i dont see the point in restamped blocks or fake paperwork , believe me the people that go after original documented numbers matching cars are not at all fooled by the restamped blocks or fake paperwork , i can tell the differance in a second there are ways to tell that some of us will never share , i have purchased several 70-71 ss montes that were deemed fake that actually turned out to be original i knew they were before i bought them for many reasons none of them being build sheet or original drivetrain , if a restorer goes thru the effort to restore a original documented or verified car and bring it back to factory correct i say hats off to them and yes there car will be more valuable to ME , believe me aftermarket intakes carbs and headers and tons of horsepower you will never use are the norm at shows and cruises today , when i see a authentic car i stop and look and admire , dont get me wrong street machines are great i own several , but i am currently restoring a very very rare 71 and look foreward to hunting for and correctly restoring this car should it be worth more than the summit catalog cruiser you bet , should it be in a tomb when finished no way drive it enjoy it , i have seen cars worht much more than 50k driven and enjoyed and cars worth less the 20k trailored and never driven go figure EVIL OR DEVINE Leo
  20. glad i could help , always a good feeling to find a build sheet , and yes your car just went up in value without spending a dime Leo
  21. your right i believe i misread it would be flexable seam sealor brushable for the larger areas and in tube for for smaller seams Leo
  22. actually Sam it is called weatherstrip adhesive , if you use seam sealor you will need a chisel to get the seal out in the future seam sealor is used to seal gaps in the body seams and hardens to a degree where weatherstrip adhesive remain plyable and easy to remove i recomend 3m weatherstrip adhesive Leo

    Trans swap

yes the 70 monte could have a powerglide and also have front drum brakes , i have never seen a factory correct 71 or 72 with a powerglide but it is possible Leo
