  1. I changed out both battery cables and fusible link over the winter but I will check that out. Thanks
  2. Thanks Steve, I'm leaning toward a new stater. In the paper work I got with the car, the prior owner put on a rebuilt starter back in 2002. I hope that will fix the problem. Off coarse last night it started right up, thanks again and if you're headed to the eastern meet be safe. I wish it was closer to Chicago
  3. I have been having problems with the starter off and on since I bought the car. Sunday I went to back the car out to clean the garage and it wouldn't start. he car had been sitting for a few weeks so I thought the battery was drained. I jumped the car and it started. I tolk it for a long drive and came back, cleaned the garage. When I tried to start it again, nothing. The jumpers didn't work, I tapped the starter with a hammer and it started. Another issue is the horn stopped working. Is the horn relay part of the ignition system?? The starter looks like it's new. Do I just replace it or look for something else. If so what starters do you all recomend? AC Delco?
  4. There should be a tag with a letter code on it
  5. I used Gray RTV from GM and thread sealer also from Chevrolet.
  6. Nice find, Have you got it bought? I know there is no chance you are going to pass on it but IF YOU DO send me the info... Great find
  7. Looks like a solid car to start with, I hope the rest of the metal looks as good as the interior and flood boards. Was. The car originally silver?
  8. The parts place didn't stock them when I bought my inner fenders. They told me they where going to order some for stock. Of course threy are a few bucks cheaper after I bought them.. Oh well
  9. Steve, here you go, Jegs is a few dollars cheaper but they get them from opgi Part# M240137 https://www.opgi.com/monte-carlo/M240137/ Jegs Part number 759-M240137 https://www.jegs.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/SearchResultsPageCmd?Ntt=759-M240137&requestYear=&storeId=10001&catalogId=10002&langId=-1&year=&make=&model=&submodel=&engine=&Nrpp=&No=&persistYmm=false
  10. I bought the rear extensions at Jegs, OPGI has them also. At the time Parts place didn't have them
  11. The old parts book that I have shows 69-70 All models Part Number 6478176 (64" O.L.)
  12. Steve, thanks for the info. I wasn't sure on the size. I bought a light and have to figure out where to wire it to. The light that I bought doesn't have the inline fuse so now I guess I'm confused.
  13. Rear shocks are 3197337 (L.H.), 3197338 (R.H.) in the parts catalog 70 MC with load leveling
  14. My car was ordered with a am-8 track, it came with dualspeakers front and rear. I would see no problem if you added the second speaker and factory grille. Good luck
  15. My 70 has them same color combo. Good luck with the restoration....
  16. I loosened everything back up including the top of the fender and was able to get it looking pretty good. At least the door isn't hitting the fender. I envy those folks that have the skill and patients to alien these cars.
  17. No, they don't seem to be. A little play in them but I don't they are worn out. The gap on the door to rocker panel looks consistent.
  18. The gap on the bottom of the door is still very close. Is there any other adjustments on the lower fender or should I get a profressional?
  19. Thanks Dale, I'm picking up some other hardware in the morning. I will see if they have those also
  20. I installed a new inner fender and noticed the lower fender bolts were loose and one needed to be replaced. Anyway now the fender seems to have moved back and the door wants to hit the fender. Is there a special way to alien the lower fender?
  21. I got the rocker molding off, kind of nerve racking. One of my questions is what is the rear screw suppose to be screwed into. Mine was screwed into silicone or something like that.
  22. I'm going to get a complete set for the car. I'll let you know what I don't need
  23. Thanks Dan, it seems like everything I touch on the car is wrong. I replaced the skirts and half of the bolts were wrong or missing. I will order a set and see what I find under the rest of the mouldings. Thanks again
