  1. Rob or Joe maybe you could move this over to members only section.
  2. Just talked to my brother again ender up with 19 inches but he got his snowblower fixed at least. He had to build a piece on his lathe to do it but got it done. Nice having a machine shop in your garage and the knowhow to use it.
  3. Willie from what I understand anything older than 10 years old and not registered and never been stolen or major components stolen is considered history. It used to be that way it may be different now with the computer technology.
  4. There was never actually a car he built everything except the body (which never had a vin) he built the frame which is where the Vin tag was back then. The 27 he is doing now is same thing he built the complete frame so probably have to do same thing. Here's the frame he built for the 27. The 26 is all tubular stainless steel.
  5. very nice looking car you got there, nice find.
  6. It's actually not unusual for us this time of year but it's been so nice in February and early March I was hoping it stayed that way. Wishful thinking I guess. 🤔
  7. I've used frams before, wix, k&n Purolator, napa gold never seen much of a difference but I only put about 1000 miles a year. Last year don't think I did that because I couldn't walk to the car.
  8. Guess I'm more fortunate than some, here's what my brother got 14 inches and counting Supposed to stop at 5 there.
  9. We're going to need a bigger parking lot for bench racing 😳
  10. Here's what I woke up to today spring in CNY 4 weeks form now I'll be in Myrtle Beach wish it was now. Oh yea 27 degrees too. Was nice my neighbor did my driveway for me, I love that guy. We used my engine hoist the other day to load a very heavy wood stove in his truck he's taking to Virginia for his grandson. This too shell pass to eventually. There's an indoor car show this weekend at the fairgrounds but don't think I'll make it to that.
  11. Bring them and a fender to the meet we'll have a clinic on how to do them. Obviously won't be able to weld them.
  12. When my brother built his 26 Ford he built everything but the body himself and it was a race car fiberglass body so if he registered that way in 2007 when he finished it it would have to be registered as a custom 2007 with all emissions regulations for that year. So he made up a Vin and a Vin plate and went to dmv and registered it as a 26. They ran the Vin through data base came up clean so he registered it. Hasn't had a problem since. I'm sure it's different for that old a car.
  13. They are great to deal with for sure. I was going to go with them but at the time they didn't make bench front covers, I understand they do now though I think. They aren't that far from me I was going to go right to there shop too.
  14. I was wondering that too, I guess sometimes glasses are more important 🤔 maybe California is it owne country now wouldn't that be nice. Just like they are talking about making NY city it's own state that would be great for the rest of the state but we'll keep long Island though. But the city would probably go broke in a month or so without upstate money flowing in. Oh well we can only dream about that. But yes this is going to be a great meet for sure.
  15. I run 26 in mine, 235-60-15 front 255-60-15 rear I may bump it up to 28 before I start driving this year. That is if spring ever gets here we've had snow which means more salt on roads for the past few days. Was supposed to make an appearance at a eclipse event but unless we have rain instead of snow that may not happen.
  16. First thing I'd do is check the mileage on car to see if they have been out beating the snot out of it then get it out of that shop and to a transmission shop.
  17. One of the shops I worked at for 15+years in the 70s and 80s we sold hitches so I did learn a thing or two about them and put on a boat load of them (no pun intended)
  18. That is a class 3 hitch that was modified to fit that frame.
  19. Panel bond is great stuff for sure but just remember vinyl top is not thick so make sure the flaws are very minor otherwise they will show through after the top is on.
  20. Yea I never liked the green. I had a 71 caprice bought new by my mother in law and stayed in the family I actually owned the car twice before I was the final owner and scrapped the car but still have the motor (sb400) in my garage. It had green interior and she had the clear seat covers put on at the dealer and seats were still very good even the rest of it was a rust bucket but the ugly green. I loved the car just not the color triple green.
  21. I have seen that done I have never done it. Although I did do an oil change one time and forgot to put oil filter on, yea that made a mess when I started it up. But out of thousands of oil changes a couple screw up are not to bad. I do pride myself on never forgetting to tighten up any lug nuts after doing thousands of them too.
  22. Mine is black but I do like some of the other colors for interior, the blue really stands out Dennis.
  23. Which ones did you go with? I just use the regular ones I have a fouling problem on 1 cylinder but am thinking about platum once I get that straightened out.
