  1. No problem Doug.........Good luck with the install!
  2. That's the manual I have, section 6N, sheet 6 thru 10.
  3. Doug, do you have an Assembly manual? Just pulled mine out and there are several pages of diagrams for the 'Cruise Control' option............
  4. Hey Roger, known several who had used the Dynamat product, its a bit stiff and is easy to get cut up fingers, I used the Eastwood product, half the price with good sound deadening and heat resistance.
  5. I cut almost one full coil & lowered the car about 5/8". These were the original small block springs........ I added a 1" spacer under the rear cargo springs plus I have air shocks with 25 lbs. This gave me the stance I was looking for, my gap above all 4 wheels to the fender lip is 1/2".
  6. Sam is right, when I converted to a Muncie I ordered the long speedo cable (80" I believe) and it comes out of the firewall, over the trans and connects to the transmission, I added a clip to keep the cable up against the passenger floor.
  7. Thanks Cory, great info, I'm sold!
  8. That all looks great, Cory. What support changes had to be made? I see the bottom rear bracket support, what about the front bottom?
  9. Joel, where does the air inlet tubes mount? wheel wells?

NAPA, when I got the expansion valve there, I asked about this tar-tape and the guy couldn't find anything in the inventory, then Mel (the owner) over heard what I was looking for and he said he had a box of dumdum tape that he ordered for a guy a few yrs ago and was never picked up. Mel went to the back & after a few minutes he found it but said I had to buy the roll (25') It was waxpaper covering the tar. On the NAPA receipt, it shows "misc tape" This is a very old NAPA location so who knows what other stuff is stashed in there warehouse........ I used maybe 1.5' to fix up the 2 tubes on the evaporator box but I can see other places to use it (under the dash possibly) If you want a few feet, no problem!

Finally found that black insulator tar-like stuff. I had to buy a 25' roll but this stuff is excellent. Tar-like tape, 1/8" thick and about 2.5" wide, cut it into strips and with wet fingers you can mold it beautifully. If anyone needs to replace their insulation on the expansion valve bulb, this is the stuff!

NAPA, Looks like an exact replacement...... http://www.napaonline.com/Catalog/Catalo...7300_0140429775 We vacuumed down the system for about an hour, replaced the valve, pulled a vacuum again and let it sit for 20min to see if we would loose vacuum (leaking) it did not, then recharged to 80% of R12 volume and she works great! The old valve was stuck open, IMO.

I converted to R134 a few weeks back but didn't get very cool air. WE had proper pressures (no leaks) but didn't get much cool air, revacuated the system, replaced the expansion valve ($18), recharged and she now cools GREAT, even in Phoenix!
  15. Hey Art, which shop painted your Monte? Which part of the valley are you located..........
  16. Look at the SEM product line, I've used several different products from them and have always had good results.....
  17. Who carries those? Goggle search doesn't give me anything.....
  18. Am interested to know more about your airbags, Mike? I'm currently using air shocks at 30lbs. I like the adjustability but somewhat stiff ride, are you using then a longer shock? Which bags do you recommend?
  19. Here's a 71 version....... I replaced the clock with a Shiftworks tach and am planning this fall to replace the indicator lights with gauges. I'll be installing a volts, water temp and oil pressure gauge. Your monte must be a 72 as the little red lense next to the lighter is a seat belt warning light (I believe)........
  20. I'm also interested as I just recently read a good article on Viking & their product line in magazine. 'Chevy Performance' in think was the magazine........
  21. Beautiful car Darren, I talked with a guy about a year ago on the phone (he was looking for a jack) he claims he has a 'pilot car'. His father was a Sales manager in Detroit, who took this pilot car, (1970, triple black, 402 bucket seat car) to major dealerships around the country and he then was allowed to buy the car. When he passed away his son inherited it who now lives here in Phoenix area and the car is stored in an airport hanger in Chandler. He was looking for a jack as the car never had one or a spare tire (he claims). He states also that the car was used in several photo shoots for magazine advertisements. I tried to get the guy to let me see the car but he was leaving for a vacation at that time. I'll reach out to him to see if I can see this car and possibly get some pictures. This investigation work fasinates me!
  22. I'm with Davey, as I experienced a similar issue with my stock manifold. Pull the bolts and put some black RTV on the threads and even around the bolt head, then let it cure before running the motor.
  23. That's just too cool...........Whose EFI system are you using?
