  1. I also had the same problem ,car ran great but very erratic, My auto mechanic took a propane bottle ( unlit of course) opened the bottle a very little and while the car was running at idle he would slowly point the propane bottle at the base of the carb and if the idle would raise I new I had a vacuum leak, so i checked the plate with a straight edge ,which was fine.so I found a guy on the web that rebuilds q- jets and he replaced the brass bushings on the bottom plate , that will wear out over time , car runs perfect now .
  2. Hi, so when the control is on vent the cowl door and the passenger kick panel are open , when the control is off the doors should be closed? thanks
  3. Hi Murphy, my big block gives off a lot of heat,I can really feel it when the car gets to normal operating temp.To think that a little cruise this past feburary would tell me that there was ALOT of cool air coming from behind the controler ,that I have a duct or other issues , I am now installing dynamat extreme and dynaliner to the interior ,which should help, but I still need to look at the ductwork, Thanks
  4. The cowl seal and the hood seal are new ,I might pull the dash and wrap the controller on the back side with foam, and check the duct work connections, thanks
  5. while driving my monte the other month it was rather cold outside ,and I noticed that there was a lot of cold air coming out from the center , where the controls are, for the heat and air conditioning.I have been dealing with a hot interior issue for the last 30+ years, could my foam around my duct work be needing to be changed ,or could it be missing altogether, thanks

  14. PROBLEM SOLVED,After adjusting the latch pin and spring, to get the hood to pop up, This did not work ,the latch is aligned perfectly with hood gaps and lines, I added a additional spring to the latch pin inside the bigger spring , and after cutting about a 1\2 inch off the new spring because of the spring being compressed to much , The hood works perfectly now , the hood pops up now the way it should . The extra spring took about an hour to install and adjust . THANKS TO ALL.
  15. I tried to loosen up the 3 bolts on the latch and adjusting the tapered bolt that latches the to the hood to no avail. Ended up ordering some helper springs from macmaster carr 6 for 7.42 I will let everybody know how they work.
  16. Thank you all for the advice , I will work on the hood latch this weekend .
  17. can the latch be loosened and slid over from side to side or front to back . while closing my hood and the pin starts to go into the latch, the hood tweeks to the right ever so slightly , could this be my problem? All my lines\ gaps are perfect I hate to move anything , I would rather get a more heavy duty spring.
  18. I had installed new gm springs ,also lubed the pivots on the hinges, helped with opening and closing ,but not with the pop that the hood should do, is it possable to adjust the hinges by loosing the bolts and tilting the hood up higher when the hood is fully opened, thanks
