hi, a while back i was also having issues with this same problem ,but mine was not electrical so when i would put the pedal to the floor while driving sometimes it would shift down into passing gear and sometimes not,because the pedal was not engaging the switch so after not being able to adjust the switch ,i got some 3/8ths or 1/2 inch fuel line hose split it down the middle and put it on the switch part that touches the gas pedal and all is good now.

check out the switch by the gas pedal ,not sure what it is called but is tan ,plugger type ,that was happening on my car a while back replaced it all good now

hi ,also surprised no 72 custom was mentioned ,as prices climb will wait ,my jukebox repair guy offered me 40 k in 2017,my wife said absolutely not , but he mentioned to call him if I ever wanted to sell.

yes a little high,but if it was a custom ,454 power windows, air ,etc. would be alot better to the ask price

tom, yes you could get a 72 with the 454 and custom package, my next door neighbor tom ,ordered and ,did that in june 1972 and i bought it from him in1980

yes ,i am sure that noise has been there for a while after moving the linkage while the car is running the rattle went away ,thanks to all who have responded ,roger

hi ,i have a column shift turbo 400, and does anyone know the part number for the spring that goes on the linkage rod that connects to the transmission, mine is original and it squeaks ,tried to lubricate but still rattles ,thanks

my american family secratary told me to check out grange, there awesome ,also helped pay my sons insurance with aaa and saved 50% paying for the whole year , one of the reasons why rates are going up is because the price of materials ,etc to rebuild a house and car have gone up, roger

hi going back to the early 70s , my sister worked at a bank that did car titles and she did the till at the end of the night ,she only came across a title that had a higher hp rating then my monte ,it was a 67 corvette 427 , also she would count the change and if she heard a weird sound with the change it was silver coins ,she would put them to the side and i would give her current coins for the silver coins ,still have them, good sister.

when i bought my 72 454 custom from the original owner ,it has the round style spark plug heat shields the pictured one looks like a funnel are not the same ones that are on my car now,but id have a set of the funnel kind,roger

i also have 72 for the past 43 years and never new there were number there,,and just took the picture of the numbers on the core support ,they are clear as day , but what are these numbers they appear to be upside down and running backwards any help would be greatly appreciated ,roger
