  1. Rob - your internet browser (Internet Explorer (IE), Chrome, etc.) may have changed in the zoom setting. If you are using Internet Explorer (IE), you may see gear wheel symbol on right top corner - click on that and select Zoom, change setting to your preference as default is 100%. Let me know if you are using other browser than IE so I can help you out. Rick
  2. I was keeping eye on any sale on inner fenders as I need to replace my right inner fender - received alert from eBay this morning, not sure if it would fit my '71? Any one experience with this kind of product? I think the price is good for 2 pieces if it's a good fit. eBay link Rick
  3. Bruce and Aaron - thanks for the pictures! Here's two pics from guy saying that vacuum valve inside needs to be replaced so is $40 still a good price or not as I do not have the tube as shown in Aaron picture? Pic 1 link Pic 2 link
  4. Bruce - I asked for pics as he will send me tomorrow, will post when I get it/them. How would I check vacuum door if it still holds vacuum? Any reason I need this for my '71? Rick
  5. I am looking to return my engine to stock by replacing air cleaner and valve covers as I have Moroso chrome ones (installed by previous owner) - found one air cleaner for 350 4BBL in Craiglist nearby, guy said he didn't know which car that air cleaner came from, would it fit my '71 Monte with 350 4BBL? And he's asking for $40 which I think is a good price, is it?
  6. Mark - was on vacation and don't think I'll have chance to work on my Monte til Sept so will upload photos when I can. I am curious if I have the choke coil in right place? Thanks again, Rick
  7. Started body work again after done the trunk lid last May - removed rear bumper and taillights, guess what I found in the right taillight?!?! See picture of the surprise!
  8. Sam - it was late in the day for me yesterday that I didn't quite read your question correctly, I did not touch the idle-mixture screw if you are referring as idle jets (see link below for picutre)? If yes, I will try again with the idle mixture screw (not the ones that Mark pointed out). Idle Mixutre screw-Rochester Q-jet Rick
  9. Sam, with arm modified, the choke is nearly closed when warmed up - haven't checked when cold yet. If you are referring to adjustment that Mark posted picture of carb? If so, they both are equally opened 3/4 way out - I tried to adjust them equally all way to end which didn't make any difference. What am I doing wrong?
  10. Mike/Mark/Sam/Tom - thanks for the tips, I took the coil cover off and changed the arm to go from angle to "straight" but it didn't help with idling, it kept stopping running - see picture I took without coil cover - does this means that I need new coil? 11. I need your help in troubleshooting my carb as it starts up quite well - idle very well at beginning but idle gets rough when engine gets warmed up. I took pictures of before starting engine and after engine warmed up - not sure if that's normal? I pulled the switch back assuming it's the choke, the idle improved - here's the picture of switch with yellow circle that I pulled back. How do I fix this issue? Rick
  12. Brian - here's 10 bolt one in York, PA off a '72 for $50: http://york.craigslist.org/pts/3942747341.html Rick
  13. Brian - not sure if you found one but here's 12 bolt one in South Hanover, PA (http://york.craigslist.org/pts/3921800519.html) for $200 including drums (apparently off an '72). Rick
  14. Cory - looks great! I am not sure but was POR15 (or some kind of protection) applied inside your doors?
  15. Yes, that's one - what is the name for it? Robert, Sam, Mike and Scott - thanks for the tips, would this WIX filter from Summit ( Link ) be a good one or do you have any other recommendation?
  16. Scott - thanks, is rubber same as Duraprene one ( eBay link )? Rick
  17. Hi all - tried to search archives but didn't find any so thought I'd post questions here. When my son and I acquired '71 last Aug that previous owner did not drive for 5 years and we replaced the tranny fluid with fresh one and noticed it's leaking close to the pan gasket so we are assuming we would need to replace the tranny pan gasket. Looking up eBay it shows variety of gasket (with or without filter kit). Q1: what kind of gasket (cork or rubber) should we get for long lasting? would any of items on eBay be good? 1) ebay Link-cork 2) ebay Link-rubber Q2: should we replace the filter while replacing the pan gasket? How often should the fileter be replaced? Q3: The shifter cable have black "beehive", what is it called so we can search to replace it as it's torn up?
  18. I would give credit for creativeness but no credit for safety!
  19. Hi Jackie, did you try to go into Forums then click on "Members Only" under "Members Area" section then click on "Newsletters". Latest issue posted is #118. I did not need to have separate username/password to access to the newsletter as I used my own username/password. Hope that helps, Rick
  20. Bruce - if that WordPress plugin doesn't work out, knowing you use Google for personal but not sure what email provider your workplace uses but have you looked into Google Sites to create FAQ's? Google Sites is not exactly a database but is searchable on whatever words you put in. Rick
  21. Steve, let me know how it goes on Saturday. Hope to meet you one day, Rick
  22. Steve - nice to find another Monte member near Frederick area! Sent you PM. Rick
  23. I didn't know I received several PMs until I logged into last night, I double checked the option which shows "No" for notifying me if I receive new PM, what changed this? Was the message board upgraded recently that may change some settings to default?
