  1. I'm driving the Monte. I think Jake is the only one in the convoy that is bringing the Monte on a trailor.
  2. That will be great if you could join us in our cruise Doug.
  3. Hotel Rooms: According to the records I received from the hotel just last week, there are still rooms available under the FGMCC name. Make sure you say you are part of the "FGMCC" group. Give that a shot. If you still have problems let me know and I'll contact them to straighten out the issue. I have sent them an email to get more details on the types of rooms left and hope to hear from them in a day or two. Friday Itinerary: The Cruise the Gorge event does not officially start until Friday evening with the neon cruise. However, based on my past experience, it is nice to arrive early to give time to get to know each other and get the cars clean before the weekend events begin. The weekend can be quite busy sometimes and goes by way too quickly. The people in this club are what make it great and it is nice where possible to extend the amount of time to get to know them. Most of the members who have been to a meet before will be arriving Thursday night since they have experienced the same thing at past meets. My guess is that roughly half of the people will arrive Thursday night. In my mind, that is truly when the meet starts. It is not a requirement that members arrive on Thursday and not everyone's schedules can permit that. But, it is recommended to be there earlier rather than later if possible. Same goes for the end of the weekend, some will choose to leave Sunday afternoon/evening whereas others will stay and relax Sunday evening before heading home Monday. I know it's the long answer to Doug's question but I want those who have not attended a meet to understand why some choose to get to the meet location early. Any questions, please don't hesitate to ask. DOUG: You have a PM
  4. It will likely take me about 4 hours to get into the Tacoma area so I'll probably get there arund 11am at the earliest. 11 is probably a good time to meet and then go wherever we decide t go for lunch. I'll be ready for a donut after 4 hours of driving
  5. I booked us a banquet room for the dinner and awards on Saturday evening. The banquet will be at Cousins Restaurant and Saloon. They were really nice to deal with and we have the room for 4 hours if we want it that long. http://www.cousinsthedalles.com
  6. OK, so that's 7 of us so far. Me Chris (Montecruiser) Chris (72monte) Kevin Jake Adrian Dave
  7. There's a lot of great monitors to visit the FGMCC site though, LOL
  8. The rates are here: http://www.fgmcc.com/05meetwest.shtml
  9. Well, 26 Montes at this point. Should be a good time. Just under 3 months to go. If you have not made your reservations yet, you should start looking into it. You have until July 29th to make the reservation but they may be fully booked by then. If they say there are no more rooms under the FGMCC, they still may have other rooms left so ask. Let me know and I will let them know you are part of the group to get the group rate.
  10. Oh, sorry Adrian. I didn't see you there sitting in your little chair. Add Adrian to the list.
  11. As seen on TV. Looks great Jim!
  12. OK, thus far there are 5 members meeting up for the drive. Me Chris (Montecruiser), Chris (72monte), Kevin and Jake. Any other takers?
  13. I actually have a pair of the replacement front stock type stereo speakers and the brackets. I'm not going to use them so if you are interested, send me a PM.
  14. Front: I assume you mean you just have one speaker in the centre of the dash. To go with stereo, you will need a different dash pad with the speaker grills in the left and right sides of the dash. Modern speakers are a different shape than the stock stereo speakers and mount differently as well. You will need to custm mount them in the dash. Rear: In my case, I wanted the car to look stock so I used stock speaker grills and mounted the speaker underneath. Now the modern speakers I purchased have a tweeter in the centre which sits taller than the rest of the 6x9 speaker. I used some sticky 1 inch foam and put that around the perimerter of the speaker to allow space for the tweeter. This way, I avoided cutting the speaker hole braces.
  15. That is what my 72 looks like built in Van Nuys.
  16. I didn't get a photo yet but I did take a peek at my original 72. The black comes up to a horizontal body seam in the door jamb. From the rear of the door jamb, it follows that seam along for 4 or 5 inches which turns virtical up to the sill plate. It is the same on the front part of the door jamb. I hope this makes sense. I'll try to get a pic posted tomorrow night.
  17. New or used? Try Koniks Klassiks (new/used), Year One (new), CARS Inc(new). You could also try posting this in the for sale/wanted forum as a club member may have these parts to sell.
  18. Yes, the bumper guards are the same for all three years.
  19. From what I remember from past board discussions, that seemed to vary by plant. My 70 was original paint when I got it and the black did not go all the way to the door sill trim. It stopped where the door jamb goes virtical before the trim. I know of others where it went all the way to the carpet. I'll have to check my 72 to see where it stops.
  20. As far as I know, that is not the TCS. The TCS is typically located on the intake manifold. My knowledge of transmissions in limited so I'm not sure what that is you see on the transmission.
  21. Adrian: Are you able to come with us Thursday?
  22. At this point, I think there is just the 4 of us driving together through the WA coast area (Me, Chris, Kevin and Jake). I haven't heard anything from the other Northwest members regarding this. I know some will be arriving Friday instead. My guess is that we may only get 1 or 2 more members for the Thursday drive if any more at all. I do know some people are going to be arriving Thursday from other areas.
