  1. Mine are original on my car and it sounds like they are the plastic splined shaft ones.
  2. Entry Forms are now available! Vistit the Western Meet Page to download the entry form.
  3. There have been a few changes to the itinerary for the event and now there may be an opening for something on the Saturday night. The people running the event are still finalizing a few things on the itinerary and may come up with a few things still. If the Saturday night is still open, there is a drive-in theater just outside Reno which is less than 40 minutes away from Carson City. What do you think of going out for dinner and cruising up to Reno for the drive-in movie on the Saturday night? I will contact the theater to find out what movies will be playing that evening. If you have any other suggestions for the Saturday night, please post it here or e-mail me. Check the Western Meet page for the updated itinerary.
  4. I haven't ordered the package but, yes, you do have to pay for it.
  5. All the info for hotel is on the Western Meet page now. There are 4 different types of rooms to choose from: 1 bed, non-smoking 2 beds, non-smoking 1 bed, smoking 2 beds, smoking Please call 775-883-3343 to make your individual group reservations. Please specify the group name "First Generation." Remember to tell them which nights you want. A couple of us are booked in for all three nights but some members may only stay 2 if they like.
  6. in 1970, the "400 Turbo-Jet V8" option in a Monte is actually a 402 big block. The same engine was used in a Chevelle and Impala but those models referred to the engine as a 396. See my 1970 engine info Here
  7. AM/FM/8-tracks were an option
  8. I was going to wait until the end of the month before I contact the hotel (this week). As soon as I set things up I'll let you know. I am hoping to set aside a block of rooms so that we are all in the same area of the hotel. Then, each of you will be able to book one of the rooms in that block. Thanx
  9. LOL. I sure hope you and your almost ok, unfinished low budget Monte can make it. . Seriously, some folks aren't even bringing their cars, they're just coming for the show and to meet fellow FGMCCers. Car or not, I still want to meet the folks that are part of this great club
  10. Anybody can come to the meet, it's open to all club members and non-members can come too. Even people with long hair . Only club members will be able to receive awards and receive the other club benefits. Dave and Janet Mau, April and myself are going to meet in Seattle and drive down together. This is going to be a blast. I don't know why I'm excited about something that's over 6 months away. I guess 'cause it's the first meet I'm attending.

  12. My 70 was all original when I got it. The underside of the hood was a flat black. ------------------ Aaron 1970 Misty Turquoise Monte Carlo My Monte Carlo Web Site

  14. My wife's car shocks me every time. One day we were getting out of the car in he underground parking garage and there was a bright blue spark from my wife's finger to the door. Her finger was at least an inch away from the door. Hurt like heck she said. ------------------ Aaron 1970 Misty Turquoise Monte Carlo My Monte Carlo Web Site
  15. Mine is a non-ac car and has one relay on the firewall. This is what I found in my 1970 Wiring diagram: http://www.riversidecorvetteclub.com/AaronsPictures/Relay1.jpg http://www.riversidecorvetteclub.com/AaronsPictures/Relay2.jpg ------------------ Aaron 1970 Misty Turquoise Monte Carlo My Monte Carlo Web Site [This message has been edited by Canuck (edited 11-18-2003).]
  16. Congratulations! The most I've done is change a timing chain so you are ahead of me. I know I had a big grin too when I did that. ------------------ Aaron 1970 Misty Turquoise Monte Carlo My Monte Carlo Web Site

  20. It wasn't an option. The paint doesn't stick to stainless steel well so it tends to come off over time. A lot of people (including myself) have taken the paint stripper to it rather than repainting it. ------------------ Aaron 1970 Misty Turquoise Monte Carlo My Monte Carlo Web Site If your wife ever says "Come and move this transmission so I can take a bath," You might be a Gearhead.
  21. Yes, I beleive the vinyl roof trim on all first gen Montes were painted the colour of the vinyl. But, only part of it is painted and leaves a bead of chrome around the roof. A lot of people strip it off. ------------------ Aaron 1970 Misty Turquoise Monte Carlo My Monte Carlo Web Site If your wife ever says "Come and move this transmission so I can take a bath," You might be a Gearhead.
  22. Interesting! I must have missed that post. ------------------ Aaron 1970 Misty Turquoise Monte Carlo My Monte Carlo Web Site If your wife ever says "Come and move this transmission so I can take a bath," You might be a Gearhead.
  23. As far as I know, disk brakes were standard equipment. ------------------ Aaron 1970 Misty Turquoise Monte Carlo My Monte Carlo Web Site If your wife ever says "Come and move this transmission so I can take a bath," You might be a Gearhead.
  24. I used the same thing on my dash and steering wheel. You need a steady hand. Make sure you have a cloth and some thinner ready for when you slip. I needed it a few times. It works great. ------------------ Aaron 1970 Misty Turquoise Monte Carlo My Monte Carlo Web Site If your wife ever says "Come and move this transmission so I can take a bath," You might be a Gearhead.
