cny first gen 71
I have patriot alum. angle plug heads for my small block and the headers I have will not work with them. Jegs lists headers that will fit bow tie angle plug heads. Does anyone know if they will work on these heads? Thanks in advance. Toppless72
Could you contact the maker of the heads and see if they know what headers would work? They should know.
badddoin
I have those heads on my small block, too. My cheapo Blackjack headers worked, after I persuaded them a little with a ball peen hammer. I don't know the part number; I bought `em over the counter at Advanced Auto Parts. cny first gen 71
I spoke to tech line and they really wernt much help. I'll keep checking around.
Tom Carter
Steve, Â Knowing the headers I had would not work with the different angled plugs I started going the Jegs book. There are a few different options for the Monte Carlo including Patriot headers. I was thinking of giving them a try. I figured Patriot head with Patriot headers...what could go wrong...haha. I will let you know how I made out. Â P.s. I got the block back from the machine shop the other day. Reassembly starts this weekend...whooohoo
Mike 57
I don' think patriot headers and patriot heads are the same company, but good luck with it! Â I had a similar issue with my AFR big block heads had to get these sockets and trim some 90 degree boots
cny first gen 71
What are those Mike?
Mike 57
Steve, they are spark plug sockets that turn over the end of the plug. If you notice they have a notch in them and can get in a really tight place. If you can start the plug you csn use these to tighten them with a 5/8 wrench. Gonzo
Mike where did you get those sockets? I have two plugs that are tough to get at and I think those would do the trick.
Mike 57
Here is a link, not cheap but it really helps. these are for 5/8 plugs. linky
cny first gen 71
Thanks Mike I may have to get them too.
Gonzo
Thanks Mike. Worth the price if they make the job easier. Why do you get 2 in a set? Is it just that one is shorter than the other? None of the descriptions I read say why there is 2.
D.E
Looks like the header mfg would give a little more room at the plugs because they have a ton of room in these cars. The bend at the plugs need to be a little longer to get boot on and a socket.look easy on the bench but not in car with a/c and all the other junk
D0ublezer0x
Make sure you guys are running header plugs too. Little shorter and makes life a lot easier.
montique
Yes they fit. I have the patriot headers with brodix track 1s and they are 1 3/4 tubes. They are not full length though.
