Leghome
What is the trick to remove the glove box latch form the door. I bought a new gloved box door to go with my new dash and can not get the latch removed. I know I read about it somewhere but my forgetererer is working a lot better than my rememberererer is
72-CLASSIC_RIDE
Hey Larry, if your referring to the lock mechanism, open glove box & on r/h side, inside of glove box door on lock mechanism, there is a hole in mechanism that you push a pin into at each tumbler, as you push pin, pull mechanism until it stops and go to the next tumbler with pin again and repeat until mechanism pulls free. Keep an eye on the tumblers to make sure (NONE) fall out of mechanism. I did rework mine a few years back & have pic's but can't find at the moment. MCfan
Cool video! I dare say that procedure is probably not obvious to the casual observer ... Thanks for sharing!

71MonteCarloMD
I used key to get it out as instructed here http://www.firstgenmc.com/forums/index.php?/topic/5375-glove-boxe-lock-removal/?fromsearch=
Leghome
I do not have a key to fit the tumbler so the video method worked great. Thanks guys that made a hard job at least for me a lot easier.
sredmyer
So once we get the lock out, what tool do we use to tighten up the rest of the mechanism?
71MonteCarloMD
I had very old big Allen wrench from my Dad to tightened it with little of blue thread lock to secure it.
