FrankOC
I've learned to never travel without a spare. Who makes a reliable ignition module?
jft69z
Avoid MSD modules. I've learned that, due to failures in my MSD/Holley dual sync distributors, and also in the replacement distributor I got for the Monte, which is the MSD 'small cap HEI' distributor. Just about any posting on the Holley/MSD support forums bash the MSD modules. For the 'small cap HEI' distributor, the popular opinion was to use a genuine GM module. I purchased one at the same time I got the new MSD distributor, but didn't install it yet. A couple of weeks ago when I drove the Monte, it did hiccup briefly once or twice while driving, but I just haven't downloaded a log file yet to see if it was ignition related. It's on the list of things to do, but I'll probably pull the MSD module out of it, install the GM one, and keep the old one in the trunk for emergency use.
