Has anyone installed one? Where did you mount your microphone?

For my radio and back up camera system, I  installed a small mic just above and behind the rear view mirror. The wire is hidden behind the overhead liner vinyl trim piece and runs behind the metal corner post bezel. Works great with my cell phone.

I wonder if I installed the mic under the radio, on the underside of the dash, if it would pickup my voice for Bluetooth phone calls?

Might be worth a try.  

You can test it for ambient noise and move it later . The one I'm using sounds natural to the other person and doesn't have that echo or chamber effect.

In some locations it may pick up background noise and have that tin can sound.

I installed a Retro Sound unit in my 72. I have the mic in the upper left corner of the windshield and ran the cable up the A pillar. I do have a bit of a noise problem with the window down but in Alaska that's a rare occurrence.
