Katman
Doesn't appear Monte Carlo, AZ - population 8 - made it to the 21st century.
Guest knightfan2691
Doesn't appear Monte Carlo, AZ - population 8 - made it to the 21st century. Not...exactly. I found it, particularly "Monte Carlo Rd" during my Route 66 trip, September 2009. Monte Carlo AZ was, at one point, part of Route 66. From the scenes in that commercial (which I have seen before), it appears some of that was filmed along Route 66. Here is a link to the pics I took during Day 10. The pics of "Monte Carlo Rd" are on the 5th and 6th lines from the top.... https://picasaweb.google.com/knightfan26917/RT66TRIPDAY10 Cort | 38.m.IL | pigValve + paceMaker + cowValve | 5 MCs + 1 Caprice Classic CHD.MCs.CC + RoadTrips.hobbies.RadioShows.us66 = http://www.chevyasylum.com/cort * rNw-CC+event: http://rdwhl-capriceclassic.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=whatsgoingon * "A long white line stretching out on the road ahead" __ Vince Gill __ 'The Radio'
Rob Peters
Someone had posted that same ad here on the site about a month ago. I had never seen it before that but I remember it because I even commented on the scarf the young lady was wearing.
David Mau
Vintage ads area great! Rob, it looked kind of like Brigitte Bardot wearing the scarf in the passenger seat, oui? After all, Louis Chevrolet was French, too. I like how the announcer says, "Whether you live in Monte Carlo - or, Monte Carlo." I should make a placard for my living room wall that says "THE WHITE HOUSE - WASHINGTON". My house is white - and it is in Washington! Then I'd just need a podium to stand behind; "Two score and two-and-a-half years ago, Chevrolet introduced the Monte Carlo..." - but I digress. Thanks for posting that, Aaron.
