Chevyss
I want to use my factory A/C and no one has R12 freon. What can I do to keep it factory and still make the A/C work properly. I guess they say that the R12 is illegal????? Thanks for any information
Mr70Monte
I guess it pays to be in the HVAC field, I've got about 45lbs of R12.
wallaby
From what I understand, they don't make it any more. It was banned years ago for fear of the ozone layer and whatever surplus there is floating around can only be bought in 30lb bottles by a licensed AC tech. My local garage deals with a lot of old cars, and he gets it at swap meets and such, but the cost is high. The bottom line is you can't buy it...but you may be able to find someone who can install it for you if they have some.
72-CLASSIC_RIDE
I have seen the R12 Freon on eBAY offered in 12 Oz. as well as 30 lb. And yes, is expensive! If not Concourse I suggest converting to 134A Freon. Way cheaper. Just my 2 cents..... Doug

D.E
your org compressor doesn't like 134a also you have to change condensor to run 134a for best results the org cond is to small flow to get the cooling you want
