clips on roof rail

Those clips on the roof rail that o against the door glass what is covering them mine seem to be bare metal and I think that they have some sort of rubber coating.Could you use that coating that goes on handles of pliers called tooldip or something like that.I know OPGI sells them now for 20 something dollars but what else could you use Thanks

That's what I used on my Camaro a few years back. It worked pretty well. The product I used was Plasti-dip. Dale

I used it... not quite as good as what GM used, it stayed kinda soft, (was not as dark, hard, or shiney black like the original stuff.

Maybe it would also work on the do-hicky that you pull on to get the hood open?

I would echo that it is not as hard as the original material but seemed to work fine.

 

I've been thinking about using it for the hood release on my monte as well.

I wonder how some of that rattle can bedliner stuff would work?

You know... that bedliner stuff would be closer to the hardness of the original material. On the downside most I have seen the bedliner stuff fade pretty quickly.

How about Heat Shrink Tube. I'm sure it will work on the hood pull. I did my Tin Knockers Hammer years ago. Still on.

I also used Plasti-Dip and it worked well - I did have to redo it several times before I was happy with the result though (I was being picky).
