  5. Does anyone know where I can get this trim?
  6. Today
  7. Thanks Aaron. I didn't expect to locate one. But I've had a life where the impossible dreams do come true.
  8. I think it would be over $40k too for a quality conversion . Not many around and very expensive to build one.
  9. Hello Matt, Welcome to the FGMCC! I think you may need the part under the steering wheel, pictured below. Only problem is you have to remove the steering wheel lock plate to get to it. The one on the left pictured came with a steering wheel I got, the green is OEM. I'll look around for a source, worst case I'll send you the white one. That being said, I tend to like the OEM for that stuff as I've had aftermarket horn hardware not work as good. Green may be non-tilt, White may be for tilt column. I may call your number too 🙂 EDIT: Amazon has a couple, though it makes a difference if it's a tilt I think, https://www.amazon.com/Dorman-83233-Turn-Signal-Cam/dp/B0024GMB82/ref=pd_lpo_sccl_1/135-1592424-0550804?pd_rd_w=UuGkt&content-id=amzn1.sym.1ad2066f-97d2-4731-9356-36b3edf1ae04&pf_rd_p=1ad2066f-97d2-4731-9356-36b3edf1ae04&pf_rd_r=MR58Y30Y8Z7XZFVCYB9T&pd_rd_wg=cuy2G&pd_rd_r=04f7b1e4-eb04-4c4a-8f8c-5f8ae46ff7fd&pd_rd_i=B0024GMB82&psc=1 https://www.amazon.com/VSW-Non-Tele-Compatible-1969-1996-STC1007/dp/B07QQ3PNGB?source=ps-sl-shoppingads-lpcontext&ref_=fplfs&psc=1&smid=A18017VO8YGHY3 From Muscle Car Central: https://www.musclecarcentral.com/1969-1972-Chevelle-and-Nova-Horn-Contact-p/ste-112.htm https://www.musclecarcentral.com/1967-1972-Chevelle-Nova-Horn-Contact-Cam-p/ste-111a.htm From SS396: https://www.ss396.com/category/monte-carlo-steeringwheelparts.html?page=1 Classic Industries: https://www.classicindustries.com/product/7812211.html?gad_source=1&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIlNDuwYCWhgMVjV3_AR1pzg2ZEAQYASABEgJNT_D_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds (EDIT: I spoke to Matt, he has a tilt column, so the white one would be the correct part, for those who may find themselves in a similar situation).
  10. Now it’s happy hour! My favourite rum glass…
  11. Yesterday
  12. We ended up doing a video call for over an hour. That worked out pretty well, made it a lot easier to identify connectors and circuits. His 1970 is a little different than the others, so my old 72 harness I have was not quite the same, but still helpful. What did people do years ago before the internet & this high technology, lol. It certainly has made the world a smaller place, and easier to get stuff accomplished, despite some of the downsides of it as well.
  13. Hate to admit it but, give up my Harley for one. Too old to drive it anymore anyway🙂
  14. Last I recall 2022 one sold at Mecum for 40K. Gonna guess a bit more in todays market https://www.mecum.com/lots/532668/1972-chevrolet-monte-carlo-convertible-conversion/
  15. Getting the 71 SS cleaned up for a couple shows this weekend.
  16. 1972 Monte Carlo - stock steering wheel - plunger lock in steering wheel broken (white) - part or part number needed ( Alright, I have been chasing this little gremlin and I believe that I found the issue (even though I tested the Horn Relay and I was eventually able to make the old relay work, the relay itself was badly corroded, it took a while to get the relay to ground, due to the corrosion, and make the horns sound off, so I replaced the relay and cleaned the connections) Next I pulled off the steering wheel cover and found that the spring, plunger, and black lock (all intact) came right out of the hole or were not even in the hole. (See picture - this piece is in good shape) Next I looked into the steering wheel and found that the little lock sleeve (White color) was broken (see picture of steering wheel center and white lock sleeve) - I believe that I will need this part on order to lock in the horn wire spring connector (correct me if I am wrong) I was able to make the horns sound by wiggling the spring horn wire contact in the hole and all worked with that, however without being able to lock the horn wire spring connector in the hole then as soon as I put everything back together it will just pop/fall out again. Does anyone know where I can get the white sleeve lock for inside the steering wheel? (I couldn't seem to find one listed anywhere) Thanks,Matt 661-406-7516

Am also always interested in any First Gen. Thank you All.

  24. Does cutting the axel count as a "modification"? 🤣 I'd think the cutoff switch is a "safety" mod and allowed
