  1. Here are some pics of my 72 factory AC cruise master setup. Hopefully it helps.
  2. Thats great Larry. Always great spending time with family. Sorry to hear you lost your mother last year. Im sure she was very proud on how you take care of the monte. Now you can enjoy your fathers company and build even more memories with him.
  3. I have seepage here to after I run the car and shut it off it will leak. Then it stops for the most part. I usually get a dime sized puddle of oil after its sits a long time. I actually smeared a bunch of rtv in that groove of the timing cover and it reduced it greatly. When its time to do the oil pan ill do it the right way. It runs amazing and my dad who sold these cars basically told me they were meant to leak oil right from the factory, so if im not losing enough to be noticed on dipstick. Im not worrying about it for now
  4. I agree rare indeed! Put up some pics when possible. Mine is also a custom. Rare but not nearly as rare as a w code custom. I think my factory cruise is more rare than the custom feature lol!
  5. I also have a factory non ac car.every spring I lubricate the vent cable. Less noisy and less resistance. The cable seems so thin on our cars!!
  6. What a great site! Definitely bookmarked it. Anything with a first generation on the cover deserves a bookmark. car looks great in the magazine!
  7. What a great feeling! Well deserved. Congrats Larry!
  8. Wow!! What an amazing transformation! I like the idea of having that armrest. Good work!
  9. Wow! Great results and glad everything held together well!
  10. Looks like a great start. Looks like you have a beautiful dash so when your interior is finished it will be mint inside!
  11. I am very interested in attending a meet at some point as well. All I here is tons of positive things about the people and activities and enjoyable beverage consumption. Hope to get the custom out to one someday!
  12. Agreed! I think you got a great color combo and a great car Glen!
  13. Ive seen a 72 custom in pewter silver just like mine with pewter cloth buckets. I was told the seats were original to the car.they looked very nice
  14. What a great find! Looks very straight and it looks like the paint still shines great!

    Fuel Pump

Not sure if 72 350 is the same. But I also have two lines. One rubber one going to tank. And a metal fuel line that goes up to carb/fuel filter
  16. I should also of clarified. With mine I have factory points distributor and original carter q jet carb. Sounds like you may not have the points. Could be a carb issue like Sam stated. Did you try a good carb cleaning or running some seafoam down the carb? That also smoothed things out for me in the past. Would hate to see you look to replace the whole engine if something simple can fix it. Good luck to you
  17. I had a similar issue last year and mine was a combination of my timing/dwell was off and my carb was set running way to rich. I replaced plugs and distributor after I reset the timing and has been great ever since
  18. Thanks Bruce. Mine is also a non AC car
  19. Hello everyone. Been going back and forth with guys at work about what type of cables are original to our cars. I have a 72 custom. My battery cables screw into the side of the battery. Cables seem original as they have stamping on them but im wondering if they were changed out. Ive been told that they should be top post that clamp on. My cables have a red plastic end and a silver type color where they screw in. Not sure if the custom had heavy duty cooling and electrical, which could be reason? Thanks in advance.

    wow on appraisel

Thanks for the info Darren.I knew pewter was a 72 only color but didnt realize not many were made in it. Thats great to hear! Larry that monte sure does seem on the rare side being canadian built ect. Just watched my classic car show with Dennis Gage. He was in Nova Scotia. What a beautiful place. May have to visit some time. Too bad he was looking at Ford's this time around. I heard he likes first gen montes though?

    wow on appraisel

Great info here guys. Even My custom is a matching numbers car 64k original miles with documentation and was even appraised at 22k.its a bucket seat car with cruise control. It has alot of original paint other than the hood but still shines good. It also still has original factory floor mats. I even have small paint chips in some areas but no rust. I was told that can sometimes add value which I still dont understand. Of course when I was pumping gas I was offered 13k for it. I know you rarely get a appraised value for you car but wasnt really sure if that was a good offer? I didnt think so. But it doesn't matter because im not selling it.
  22. Car looks great Patrick! And prayers sent for a safe travel
