  4. When I purchased my Monty new it came with the G 70x15 Goodyear tire. I still have the original spare and also has narrow white stripe. I've checked a lot of tire sites and none show the Goodyear tire most are Firestone I believe. Lot of things on this car do not jive with what other folks have said should or should not be on this car. Thanks for any help . Later RJD

It's not going to be a car that will be set up to show. Been there done that. Have won more trophys with this car that I care to think about. I'm paticular when it comes to what the car had when new. That is why I was looking for the Goodyear tire. BTW here is an interesting tid bit. Mine never came with the chrome exhaust tips and I even ordered this car and never notice till after I had brought the car home from the dealer. Thanks for all the info. Later RJD

    71SS Tires

I'm trying to get the car as close to as original as I can. But the tires are putting a hold on my plans. I intend to sell the car and want it to be close for more bucks. Later RJD

    71SS Tires

Thanks for all the info. I have tried a bunch of sites and fail to see the G70x15. Lots of 14 inch. Seems funny that the resto folks missed this tire combo. Yep looks just like my spare that is still in the trunk. Never been on the ground. Even hold air but I don't think I'd trust to use it. Later RJD

    71SS Tires

Ok here is the question and there seems to be some debate. What brand of tire came with the 71 SS? I know the size is G70 by 15. Mine came with Good Year narrow stipped white wall. I still have the original spare. I have searched high and low for replacements and have found no match for white wall only the size. Any body got any info for finding them? Later RJD
  17. The 360 and the 390 are not the same. There where differences may be slight but according to my memory I never saw one with the sticker relating to a 360. Later RJD
  18. Wow really great stuff. Looking good. Know it takes a lot o time and money but your car is going to really be a stand out. Later RJD
  19. Where did ya come up with 360 hp all after the 390 are rated at 365hp. There where other mods than mentoned for the 390 if I recall. Later RJD
  20. So any of you have the 390 HP 454 in the 70? Later RJD

    wow on appraisel

Great info. As I'm the original onwner of my 71 SS and have all the documentation including build sheet, original window sticker dealer order sheet, protectecto plate, one and only warrenty work order, original spare tire and much more. 75000 original miles. With help from a good friend of mine we came to a close figure as to what production number it would have been out of the 1919 built. Came out to about Num 750. I special ordered it with my options late in the model run. Later RJD
