Badges, badges, we don't need no stinkin' badges! Sorry, had to. Was waiting for some one else to, but.... Lololol
  2. Not really Rob. Lol we are always working on other people's classics. We love doing it but leaves no time for ours. Lol plus 5 others are not pictured. My 70 SS, Kevin's 71 SS, His 76 tubbed "flip flop firebird" and 36 f*#d Tudor and our 84 tubbed Cavalier. 6 of you count my 71 402 4speed also. 🥴
  3. Thank you, Kevin was bored for a second over the winter and used a damaged rally wheel to make it. The lugs were buggered.
  4. Hey everyone! Just a long overdue update. Finally took "barn find" for a ride... To get inspected. Lol. Ran and shifted good for being off the road for so long. Have to adjust the rebuilt Rochester a little, the front end is shot but otherwise, she loved being on the road again. Second pic is of "the girls" enjoying some sunlight. Lol
  5. Welcome Marilyn! Nice collection you have started already! And your dream job?! You are living the dream! Like many have stated, alot of helpful people here. Not just with Monte Carlos either. Good luck living your dream and keep the pics coming!!!
  6. Welcome JP! She's a beauty indeed! Sorry to hear about dad. Keep making the memories with dad and the girls!
  7. For those who don't know or couldn't picture the difference... The blue 70 is for the lower chrome moulding. The tan one is for cars without. Tan one is a 71 but mainly for comparison.
  8. Welcome Rick! Nice ride!!
  9. Oh no, the Vin on the dash and the Vin on the cowl tag ARE supposed to match. 100%
  10. LOOK at the Vin behind the windshield on the dash. It has an F! The trim tag, has a B AND the sequential Vin numbers between the 2 DO NOT MATCH! Now you need to find out why.
  11. The ones pictured have the "houndstooth" pattern made famous by the 69 Z/28s. That being said, I have the legendary cloth ones in my 70. Love them. When I brought them to my upholstery guy, he raved about the quality. Bit like others said, they take awhile.
  12. Then there is a vacuum leak somewhere. My pump only comes on when I have low vacuum and shuts off at required vacuum. Even with my foot on the brake pedal. Check the booster. Sounds like it leaks with pedal pressed.
  13. Pop off the dash pad and take a look at the way the flint vin is attached. Rosette rivets? Round head? Patch with Vin welded in place? I would do that first. The Vin numbers on the firewall are under the heater/ a/c box. You would have to remove it to see the numbers. Also, the Vin you stated in an earlier post does not match the Vin on the body tag. So as far as the B being mistaken for an F, I say no. Sorry.
  14. Like Homer Simpson says.... DOH!!! I agree with the info Aaron stated. Baltimore car. Possible rebody at some point? The flint vin is a good Vin if he has it registered and insured. IDK about the Baltimore Vin. Checking it out could open a can of worms.
  15. A/c cars with a heater control valve should not have any warm air coming out the vents.
  16. Thanks for the 72 info. Only had a couple of them. Tons of 70 and 71s though. Lol
  17. Far and few between. NOS is big bucks when you see them. Alot of truck versions trying to be sold as car versions.
  18. Not 💯 on the 72. Has to have something though. Here is a pic of "barn find" 71 402
  19. The t-10 and super T-10 are not as strong as the Muncie units they replaced. That being said, the LS engines do not have a provision for the Z bar ball. You would either have to search the internet for something or convert to hydraulic throw out bearing. There are kits for the Monte Carlo produced that have the pedals, linkage, bars and the Monte Carlo specific chassis mount for the zbar and hardware. But again, this will only work if you fab up or locate someone that makes the zbar mount on the block side. For a t-10 of any variant, I say nay. Pass. You could also look at 5 and 6 speeds. Just a thought. Hope this helps.
  20. That is the heater control valve. On the 70 Monte Carlo it's located on the passenger fender well. For 71+ 72 it is on the intake manifold. It is supposed to shut off the hot water going into the heater core when the a/c is on or when cooler temps are requested. The quick version. Lol
  21. Mine are satin black. Even the NOS one I have is satin black.
  22. Here is a pic of the one on my son's Monte. Like mentioned, I wouldn't tow anything significant with it.
