  1. Some of our members wives are like my wife. The have been to some of the meets and they get to meet some of the people we talk so much about. Ronnie was never on line with us so we did not talk as much about Ronnie as we do some of our other members who we become friends with here on the site. The only time they get to meet any of these people is at some of the Eastern Meets we go to. Patsy may have met Ronnie only a couple times but his friendly nature was so strong that as soon as I first mentioned he was ill and first described him Patsy knew exactly who I was talking about. When I showed her a picture she said yes that is exactly who I visioned when you told me about him. This is the type of person Ronnie was, he had a positive impact on everyone. Patsy said he was such a nice person he is easy to remember. Rob
  2. I am so sorry to make this post. I just got a call from Ronny Bryan's sister in law. Ronnie passed away this morning around 8:00. For anyone anyone who knew Ronnie knows he was a true gentleman. I never heard Ronnie say a negative thing about anyone or anyone say anything bad about him. Ronnie was always there with a smile on his face and a funny remark. Our sympathies go out to Ronnie's family. Ronnie will truly be missed at our Eastern Meets. Please keep Ronnie and his family in your prayers this Easter Weekend and the upcoming months. If you wish, you can send expressions of sympathy to Ronnie's Family at: The Bryan Family 18194 Highway 72 Rogersville, Alabama 35652 Rob
  3. I guess nobody has heard anything more on this. Kevin, it sounds like you knew Ronnie and his wife very well. Rather than a number of people bothering the family in this difficult time would it be possible for you to take the lead and keep in touch with them and let us know how Ronnie is doing. Rob
  4. Our thoughts and prayers are with Ronnie in his time of need. Anyone who has met Ronnie is a better person for knowing him. I have been one of those people. I have never seen Ronnie without a big smile on his face and him cracking some funny comment. I have neever heard Ronnie say a bad word about anybody and every meet I have been involved with Ronnie has been one of the first people to offer to help out. Even if you aren't very religous say some special consideration for Ronnie. Get better my friend. Rob Peters
  5. Rodney, The wheels look great. You may want to put one more coat on them with the second can. Either that or keep it to use for touching them up as needed. Rob
  6. Sounds like a good Quote Of The Week candidate Rob
  7. My car is a 70 and I have one on the front. Like Jared said, great fit and quality for the prict. I have had mine on for three to four years now. As far as fit, I removed the old one and the holes for the new one lined up perfectly without adjusting the brackets. rob
  8. They were a 70 only item as stated above but someone stated they were an "Option". they were not an option, they were standard equipment. As Aaron stated, they were discontinued as a cost cutting item so that is why some had them and others didn't. Mine has them and it was a late production car but earlier production cars from other plants than Baltimore may not have had them installed because they ran out of stock before the Baltimore plant did. rob
  9. I would think they are the same as the Chevelle since I think the rear window in the chevelle is the same as the Monte. You may be able to get the pieces from either Leo or Jared. Rob
  10. Yes, but I think the 70 mat was a different color than the 71/72 Rob
  11. Good Job Dave!!! now, get those pictures up or it really didn't happen. Rob
  12. Steph, welcome back, good to see you back on the site. How have you been doing. Don't be a stranger. Rob
  13. Wow and I thought speed bumps around here were bad on my suspension. A couple of them hopped around like my dog when she is begging to go outside to go to the bathroom.. rob
  14. Welcome to the Lowriders. Like others said, bring on the pictures. Rob
  15. oops, I just noticed that others chimed in with some of what I just said.... ignore what I said. Rob
  16. The double 26/26 indicates it never had a vinly room. If it has the chrome trim but no vinyl top consider yourself lucky that they only decided to install the chrome and never got around to installing the after market top because you may have a lot of rust issues now. The 26/26 paint code indicates the lower body and roof were the same color. If it had origionall had a vinyl top it would have had a 26 followed by a letter. The number would have indicated the lower body color and the letter would have indicated a vinyl top and depending upon what letter they used would indicate what color vinyl top it had. Mine has a paint code of 25/10 which is Astro Blue and Classic White which is a factory two tone painted car with the lower part the blue and the 10 equaling the classic white painted room. In this case they used the same vinyl roof trim to separate the two different painted colors.... or if you are in Canada colours. That said.... another member "Sam" "Bones" has a two tone painted car which does not have the two numbers so nothing is set in stone. Rob
  17. Crazy Dave beat me to it... I was going to ask, Are you asking about true or true and cloned SS454's. Here we like to see buildsheets. Of course if someone takes the time to creat a clone they will figure out a way to clone that build sheet. Rob
  18. I would also be interested in how it comes out. If it comes out great would you be able to write an article for the club newsletter. I was wondering if after the patch work is done do you paint it or stain it and clear coat it. Rob
  19. Looking fantastic. I wish I had the time to dedicate to a project like that. Rob
  20. Very Nice Award. Again and again our members make it so we are noticed. This is one of the nice things of the way are club does our Eastern and Western Meets instead of having a meet all by ourselves. It is very impressive to see that many first gen Monte's lined up on a show field. It is not a rare thing to see a grouping of Chevelle's or Camaro's or sub-pars at a show so it is a special treat to see that many of our cars and since it is not a car you see at every show it makes it all that much more special for others in attendance. Of course I could be showing a bias here and maybe it is only special to us but we have had many people come up to us at these shows and tell us this. Rob
