As Tom said, end use is very important. If someone is building it for you get their input also.

After all the stories trailer maintenance went to #2 on my to do list. I serviced the wheel bearing last year and only trailered the Monte once 🙃 #1 Is dusting off the Monte and going for at least a small spin, I'm already behind on my schedule (life/work/weather) The trailer may go to #1 if the weather still sux when I get back. I'm not complaining, well maybe just a little whining 🤣Being in So Fl all these years I'm not used to an off season driving the classics

We won't say anything.........except here of course 🤣 And like Dennis said, I'm pretty sure everyone has gotten bad outta the box once or twice

I'd go get it bench tested, eliminate or confirm there is an issue . Hard to trouble shoot not knowing what's actually good. Just my .02

Welcome to the madness ...As been already said, your car, do what you want to it. You could post a few pictures of your new Monte and we will be happy to help you spend money on upgrades or original parts 🤣 Theres a great group of members here on the forums, lots of knowledge and experience. And thank you for your service

I have the kick panel speakers, very close clearance on the parking brake pedal. I don't know if I need to adjust or tweak the pedal.

I put mine on the fender wall, I tossed a coin for hidden or trouble shooting access. 🤣 Yea I know alot of wire loom, but better than al the different colored wires no matter how nice you lace them in.

Just saying you may want to go with an updated radial tire, better ride ..

I use a zinc oil on my non built / stock Merc, I use what the manufacturer recommends on my crate in the Monte.

Thanks for the update on the laminated colored schematic. I will have to order one for the garage wall too. 🤣 As far as your other comments, and that's the "snowball effect" ! 🙃 But on a good side, going through the harness should lower your possibility of a critical electrical issue on the road or even worse fire.

same here, well some of the time 🤣I noticed a immediate difference once I instlled my elec fans with the temp sender. Thats why I bought one for the merc for x-mas. Now I spend 1/4 of the time checking the gauge

One of the first things I bought when I got my Merc was a aluminum racing floor jack from HF, went right in the trunk 🤣

Thanks, I like that the part you got also came with the 2 plugs in case you didn't use one or either outlets. I used a "spare" block port on my monte, didn't have that option on my mercury

WTH ? Did you spill your porridge bowl in there ?

How did you confirm the fitment ? The Dorman website chart only goes back to 74 and says won't fit a 70 (didn't ask for engine size)

Blue ovals weren't any better either back then
