  1. Cool, I'll get to see the Smurf hood in person 😁
  2. Well its YOUR car and you could do worse 🀣I like the wood look. Not a big corvette fan or most of the people that own them 🀣
  3. I had already booked my room, just registered for the show on the Carlisle site 😁
  4. If that's true......I'm thinking 1 or 2 trailer road trip to the "in stock" warehouses while they are unsupervised 🀣
  5. Just remember here there are NO stupid questions, we all started from the bottom rung of the ladder at some point.
  6. If nobody is local, go to a car show, or if you have one local drag strip. Ask some car guys for references they will point you in the right direction. I'd focus on getting the Monte running and stopping right first. The electrical (dash) could be something simple or another can of worms.
  7. Man that blows ! Sorry I'm nowhere near to help
  8. I believe mine was a zip tie when I bought it (gawd that seems like forever ago 🀣) There have been one or two threads previous that discussed the unavailability of a correct replacement. I know I used a zip tie after the engine swap, moot point now that ive gone with the electric fan setup and ditched the fan shroud πŸ™ƒ
  9. When I did my engine swap I ordered new hoses from Summit. And yes I did the check if it fits your car 🀣 The top hose was way to long and had to trim it.
  10. Nice, the Oakwood homes is a flashback . IPM made some 1/12 porcelain cars back in the day, I have a few but not the #15.. Action made a few also. They're hard to come across and like everything else these days pricey as heck.
  11. Mr September ......Always a fan of Harry. Also followed the 33 when Ken Schrader took the wheel. Pre Monte days I had 2 skoal banners in my garage, and one or two in the house 🀣
  12. Definitely would suggest at least 5" backspacing. Can't help you with wheels, I'm using my buddy's old school aluminum Enkei's but have them wrapped with Nitto drag radials. Fronts are BFG's for street driving I just reversed the raised white letters inside.
  13. It won't be long now until Dennis puts a tow hitch on the Monte for parts gathering 🀣

Couldn't find any keystone classics 15x8 with 5" backspace. But as CK mentioned https://www.summitracing.com/parts/wvi-50-583405
  15. Yea, I looked for more than 2 years, zip....... So decided to go the Monte route. Can't complain, very happy with my Monte and found this site. Life is good 😁
  16. I have big dreams 🀣🀣
  17. Ive been looking for a 71/72 factory 429 Cougar for awhile now, I call it my unicorn search 🀣
  18. Your going to get a lot of good options here with this group, lots of knowledge. If you really wanna go big you can instal a Dakota Digital dash, they really look sharp. I had/have the full gauge dash in my 70, but when I installed the new engine I wanted new gauges so installed oil and water under the dash. Another member here installed 2 or 3 of the gauge pods on his center console. Keep us posted on what direction you go.
  19. Sorry Rob, couldn't resist 🀣 Since I was Monte-Less over the winter I decided to do the electric fan/radiator upgrade on the Mercury....I was very pleased with the results on the Monte and they were on $ale. I also swapped out the aftermarket gauges on the steering column, originally I had white face gauges and it just irked me being a triple black car. Also since Dennis started a trend with pictures with feet and its been carried on by others I didn't want to be late to the party 🀣 The swap was pretty straight forward since I had already done one , except the temp sensor for the fans. I had no "open" ports for the sensor except removing a petcock in the block which I didn't want to do. Also didn't want to splice into a ignition on power wire in the harness (which I did on the Monte)You can barely see in the feet/gauge picture 2 toggle switch's. I took out a few fins in the a/c vent (who runs a/c when the top is down 🀣) One is for ignition on volts and the other is for bypassing the temp sensor signal (since there is no sensor ) and it just grounds the sensor input and cuts the fans on. Clevelands are hot running to begin with and being in Fl it doesn't help.
  20. My 70 SS tilt is color matched to the car. But no way to verify if original or done when the PO.....I like the color matched
  21. All of mine are in a box somewhere 🀣 the attached is one for reference only, I did do this paint scheme along with a couple of other nascar rides. Probably the most obscure one I did was off the 2nd photo.....John Andretti's 98 decals mixed with Dale Jr's Budweiser. Nascar trivia time....1999 Daytona Bud shootout, Cale Yarborough Motorsports has and entry, and Dale Jr doesn't. CYM has no sponsor so Budwieser sponsored the 98 for the shootout .
  22. Nicely Done! I don't remember 1/16 scale.....I did some 1/10 RC car stuff back in the day, Slixx made some nice decals
  23. Rest up ! I used to do those 14 hour 1K mile runs, I'm too old for that now 🀣
  24. Keep it up north, just started getting into the 60's here in Va Winds have been horrible tho
  25. I did notice on the registration link there's a "special" link for fiero's πŸ™ƒ
