    SS original tires

Ron… One of those "tiger in the tank" tails would look cool laying on that Tiger Paw spare tire when they do the judging… Just saying… They have them on EBAY for about $22... Ed.
  2. Dennis, I just switched my old performer intake to the 2701 performer square bore and it made a world of difference… I plan on taking my 63 Bonneville out of the barn soon and hoping to find an Edlebrock intake for the 389. From my experience the Edlebrock carbs work best with the edlebrock intakes without all the adapters, etc. Ed
  3. Yep, totally agree. Never used a Holley and I'm sure it's a great Carb too… But the Edlebrock works really well for me. I'm using them on all of my older cars…
  4. I 'd guess early to mid 70's Cadillac…. Looks like some of the stuff on my 73 Cadillac Broughmn or my 76 Cadillac Calais... Ed C

Happy they arrived Ron.. Send us the pics after installed … Don't think they will disappoint you. Personally, I've never been a fan of tires that say COOPER or BIG O on my sidewalls … LOL …. I'll hold off on mounting mine for awhile. I'm hoping to drive up to Ashland in June and put them on the week before. Ed.
  10. Luckily, I had no clearance problem with the drop plate under the air filter… I'm using an HEI distributer and it clears with a half inch to spare. With the MSD ignition, clearance was really wide, but I had to move the coil. Didn't care for the MSD ignition anyway… Ed
  11. I was using the Edlebrock performer and switched over to the Edlebrock EPS squarebore and the thicker gasket. Height was an issue,, but a thinner air filter solved my problem.. You can also lower the filter by changing the lower plate that fits over the carb. I puchased mine from a local performance store..
  12. I can't speak for the cam Tom , but I've pulled my 350 engine without draining the AC or removing the hood…. I'm sure other more experienced members will be able to help on the cam removal, but I'm suspecting it can be done. My personal opinion would be to pull the engine. There are so many variables and minor things that could go wrong. Ed

  14. Paul, All the kids survived , so they still look good.. Not show quality,, but aged well with the car and the 30 year old PPG paint job that I paid $1100 for back in 1992… Ed
  15. All four of our children and eight Grandchildren learned to drive in the Monte Carlo..
  16. Paul , LOL.. For some reason my Grand Children won't allow me to babysit my great grandkids… Ed …
  17. Monday. May 9th … This morning , I had an appointment in Medford Oregon. 300 miles from home …. At 2am, this morning, I decided to take the Monte rather than the Buick … So, I backed the Monte out and headed west, down the hill, and across the back roads thru the rice fields of northern Calif.. With about 70 miles of flat road before approaching the interstate , I let her roll out at speeds of 80 to about 95 in overdrive.. When I got on interstate 5, I decided to let her cruise at about 75 and 80… Rather than use the passing gear I prefer to slide the shifter back and let her build rpm slower… She cruised and passed everything in her path without a cop in sight. On most of the uphill runs I kept the 700r4 in 3rd gear, allowing the 350 to do most of her work between 2200 and 3000 rpm .. After my appointment in Oregon I headed back to California and repeated the process.. The round trip was just over 600 miles, and I was back home at 3:15 pm having a margarita with my wife. !3 hours, 600 miles , did my appointment, Two fuel stops, and 20 minutes at the KFC, and said hello to my daughter for 30 min. I even took a one hour nap and was still an hour early for my appointment … What could possible go wrong with an 80 year old man driving a 52 year old car. It works for me. That's what I did with my Monte today.. Ed C.

Good move Ron.,.,. Your friends will never notice the half inch difference. 😄 Ed C.
  20. On a whim I replaced the Flex fan and went back to the factory stock fan and clutch. The toilet paper test clearly shows It pulls more air than the after market Flexfan.. It's noticeably quieter too.. Ed C.
