  1. I am jealous of the access the rotisserie gives you on the bottom side! Does the one piece floor you're getting have all the bracing too? I ended up buying a used tail panel for mine off of AZChevs on ebay. I was in the middle of repairing mine when I spotted the listing for the tail panel. Definitely a labor saver!
  2. The rotisserie looks like it will give you great access! I didn't use the one piece floor. I ended up using full pans and a 1 piece trunk. I also installed the area under the back seat. A one piece floor would have probably been better. I've never installed a one piece floor but if I were to I'd just make sure I braced everything up. From that pic your floors don't look terrible. Is there a lot of rust/rot?
  3. I spoke with Goodmark late last year and they said they were working on a Monte Carlo hood with the Chevelle SS cowl. When I spoke with them they said the fenders and hoods could be available in the spring.
  4. I've never replaced it with anything. I'm sure there was some reason for it but I never really thought that much about it.

  6. It looks like it will get the job done. I replaced the floors in mine but used pans. The one piece floor would have been the better way to go! I ended up making a wood cart after i did the metal work to sit the body one. I really wanted a rotisserie but didn't want to invest too much into one! Good luck with the floor replacement!
  7. I would prefer stainless over coated mild steel but that would just be personal preference. I have had both and from my experience eventually the coating starts to fail. If you do end up getting a set of steel headers just make sure you test fit them prior to sending out for coating. That way you can do any necessary clearance work prior to coating.
  8. They discolored from being welded to the flanges. Stainless discolors much more than mild steel. You could go at them with maroon or gray scotchbrite but more than likely they will just turn dark brown anyway.
  9. I've never installed one but it seems like it would probably stiffen it up a lot. If I was going to build a pro-touring car I'd likely buy steel and make my own.
  10. I'm going to agree with Thomas in that the starter could be corroded inside. I'd pull the starter off, clamp it in a vise, put 12 volts to it and short the solenoid to see if it turns over.
  11. A shrinker/stretcher would have come in handy for that area. I wouldn't shy away from making the corners out of a couple pieces of metal then welding and finishing them off. Looks like you are getting there though!
  12. It doesn't appear that he is having too many issues overall considering the complexity of the panel. A good replacement panel would have been easier but part of the fun of these projects is fabricating your own parts.
  13. I'd get a 70-72 Chevelle tail panel and section it in.
  14. if you are not going to use it I may think about reworking your tail panel slightly to remove any overhang the trunk lid has. Having said that, I don't think it would look weird if you kept the tail molding but deleted the side moldings. You can use some masking tape to hold the molding on to see how it looks.
  15. Looks nice! Will you be putting the 72 molding on the back or are you deleting it?
  16. Looks good! I'd get that truck lined up and latched close to how you will want it just to make sure it all works. It looks very nice though. Good job!
  17. You are on the right path. One patch at a time! I'd recommend upgrading to some solid mig wire with shielding gas if you can. It will make welding some of that thin sheet metal a little easier. Should be pretty cool with the LS motor in it!
  18. Put the taillight extensions on if you can and close the trunk lid. Looking great!
  19. I've made the weather stripping gutters before using a shrinker/stretcher. They turned out nice but sometimes it makes more sense to just buy it if its available. Keep up the good work!
