  1. Actually did this after work during the week, overhaul camp site. Wind blew canopy over , left a pile of metal, ripped canvas, ect.. cross ties , er railroad ties, had rotted after 15 years. Managed to get the frame of awning back together, tore out ties with tractor, šŸšœ installed new ones. Keeps the gravel from migrating out. Need concrete but $$$ .. just waiting on new cover to put on canopy.. sometime we stay up there, build a fire šŸ”„, a quick getaway without the trip.. enjoy cooking outdoors.. cast iron..
  2. Replaced the top and added the bottom trim last year.. and installed the end caps.. but I canā€™t remember where I ordered them from. Probably find that listing in , what did you do to your Monte Carlo today, post.. No glue necessary. And the inside bottom is visible , at least part of it.. the old trim had really yellowed.. you can also use warm water to form new ones into the correct shape. It was sent too long so there is some trimming to do.. Ronā€¦
  3. I installed plastic, very pleased.. canā€™t really fault those who installed metal, but my plastic ones from the parts place were mfg for a Monte Carlo, not that shorter Monte ā€œwant a be.. ā€œā€¦
  4. Welcome Knoxville, from Ky. Wow ! You were very close to last years 2023 Eastern meet. In somerset Ky. It was a great time. Wish you could have been there , like Rob peters said earlier, this yearā€™s eastern meet is in Carlisle PA. The largest FGMCC meet ever is scheduled.. in June there. Try and make it if you can.. Ronā€¦ ps, car looks great!
  5. Prefer the Delco , had good luck with the Walmart tho. 2 cars, one truck, the Monte, 2 Harleyā€™s, 4 wheeler, zero turn mower two diesel tractors , 10 batteries to keep track of. Have quick disconnect on Monte.. battery tenders on bikes ect.. I go for longevity, those two brands have done the best, so farā€¦ Ronā€¦
  6. Nice ad, thanks frank for posting, they spoke highly of the FGMCC and its officers as well. Good job on the interview guys!. Ronā€¦

  10. Update, good news , colonoscopy, NO polyps or colitis.. have a family history of that..
  11. Donā€™t see the G 67 listed on the build sheet. Weird. Wondering if original radio in it still. That would be nice. Great car to start project with if engine runs good.. a lot of originality still there. šŸ‘šŸ»Hood spear broken or incorrect.. tho
  12. Thanks Willi, not looking forward to thisā€¦ I promise not to post pictures of this ordeal! šŸ˜‚ Butt, you know what they say ā€œ no pictures, it didnā€™t happen ā€œ! šŸ‘€ look out!

  16. I knew you would remember Rob. Thank you for reminding us. We were so sad when they didnā€™t make it to the 22 Meet in Carlisle. Great people , like most of our members are.. probably ALL.. thanks Robā€¦
  17. This is a picture of a 1971 Monte Carlo sales brochure center fold, with an SS sporting a drivers side remote sport mirror.. Then a pix of the drivers sport remote mirror and passenger non remote sport mirror on my 71. When we were at the 2021 Eastern FGMCC Meet in Bristol, a fan was watching the drag races on satellite tv. The airplane camera zoomed in on the car show and all the Montes, the fan called a friend of his at the show, and asked where the heck did the rt side sport mirror on that white Monte come from?.. we were parked two cars down. I said, as far as I remember, I got it thru the Parts Place.. Anyways, we made friends with the couple 2 cars down, but unfortunately he passed away the next year. His name was Richard, went by name Dick, wifeā€™s name was Joyce, but I donā€™t remember their last name.. great people. Car was copper color. True story..
  18. Didnā€™t cross my mind to do that Rob, I did think of getting them chromed at some point but couldnā€™t find a place that does that close to me.. something about environmental problems doing chrome now.. evidently.
  19. Took about 2 weeks to do because of the temperature and rainy weather but repainted the roof supports interior trim next to the dash. Wear of previous owners getting in and out rubbing paint odd with there shoulder or arm. Had to take them down to bare metal to get any type paint to adhere.. turned out much better. Not professional but much betterā€¦
  20. Sounds like a good idea to have to leveling system work, but, mine still has the original on it , which doesnā€™t work, and Iā€™m hesitant about swapping it out..
  21. Seems I remember this car listed a while back, I may be wrong. Amazing how the price of the first gens keep going up šŸ›— ā¬†ļø $.. glad I got mine when I did..
