    Sooo slow

I’m having the same problem. Could the site need to be purged of older material and that moved to the archive? Just an example “what did you do for your Monte today “ is 118 pages long. Just spit balling here. I went got a new iPhone because I thought it was my phone having issues. It’s a work phone so it’s not like I had to pay for it. Lol.
  2. It should just be a vent line. Corrosion is not the best but it should cause no issue until you start smelling fuel fumes.
  3. Yes you are correct. If I tear it down I guess I’ll find out. Probably an acorn stuck in the valve holding it open.
  4. The three in your hand, two go to the fuel sender , the other goes to the nipple ( sorry Glen) on the tank. I think there may be two more but I’m not sure on a 72.
  5. Trust me they have been counted. I have very little changes from oe but I have added options that didn’t come on the car from the factory but could have been ordered when purchased. I’m in the modified class. Lol.
  6. Flint built, so I won’t find a build sheet. But I could get lucky. That’s funny.
  7. “Dennis you’re to kind “. That’s not something that I hear very often. Lol. It usually goes in the other direction.
  8. Glen, they look awesome together. Well done. I totally understand the happy wife thing when they get the parts out of the rooms.
  9. I have a bad habit of throwing stuff in the woods. Sometimes it makes me wonder what’s all out there. Lol. And yes I’m serious.

    won't start

What is it doing? Is the engine turning when you turn the key ? Does it do anything when you turn the key? If you just pull the light switch do the headlights come on? If it doesn’t do anything when you turn the key check your connection at the battery.
  11. I know. Found this one on the internet
  12. Put it where you want it and leave it there. Who else drives the car. I can’t remember the last time I moved my seat. Lol.
  13. See I could make my junker look like that. Champagne gold/ black vinyl top
  14. What you can’t come up with anything unique? Lol.
  15. That’s because a lot of them don’t have jobs. Why work when the government will support you. Free everything but you have to vote democratic, that’s the only stipulation ( unwritten rule). Lol. But not really.
  16. Now that’s being bored at work. lol. Run out of movies to watch did ya? Lol. We’re all going to miss the time you spend researching when you retire. That is a really valuable asset.
  17. Welcome Jarrett. As one of many in the group that recently rebuilt one, I can tell you it is no easy task, mentally and/or financially. As said above post pictures. Don’t be afraid to ask questions, they are not all stupid lol ( I have asked plenty that were kinda stupid). One person may not have all the answers your looking for but as a group I’ll bet you get all the answers you need. One awesome thing that I learned was if someone puts out incorrect information they have always owned it. That means a lot. Good luck, post pictures and get it running good enough to get to the meet Aaron ( Canuck) was talking about. Meeting some of the group in person is like a shot of adrenaline. It really helps.
  18. So I got a wild hair up my a.. I figured I’d see if it will fire up. Something that felt like oil was on the dipstick. Something liquid was in the radiator. I took my boroscope and looked down the intake for junk. Didn’t see anything. Looked in spark plug holes, didn’t see anything. Put my old 71 plugs in it. Put my paperweight 71 q-jet on. Battery. It cranked no spark. Wire to coil from points was split. Fixed. Spark. Dump some gas down carb. No fire. Tried starting fluid. Cranked. It went around about 4 times and locked to a dead stop. O crap. Put a socket on the crank bolt won’t move forward but went backwards. Hit the key split second crank and locked up again. So I’m guessing a bolt, acorn, walnut shell or something else got down the intake. Now the decision to part may become easier. The engine would be rebuilt anyway so big picture not a problem. Just thought I’d throw a little laugh out for you all
  19. So I’m as dumb as dumb can get. I went to get the pictures, pulled off the air cleaner and realized I have the Holley on there. What an idiot I am. So the vacuum hoses will be incorrect for your car sorry. But here are some pictures anyway. No sense wasting the film.lol. ( when’s the last time we talked about camera film)
  20. You don’t have to pull the tank but you do have to disconnect all the fuel and vapor lines.
  21. Yep like the difference between a boat and a ship.
  22. Good job. Did you remember to put the return line in the can too? Lol. I didn’t.
  23. If you’re going to sell the vette, now is the time. People get that spring fever. I really need to figure out something. Karen is not going to be happy if she’s outside for another winter. At least she’s under a carport. Lol.
