Happy Bday, dude. You share your birthday with my Dad… 84 years old and still pretty sharp.
  2. Great looking car overall and I like the colors. Nitpicking: radio, exhaust tips, air cleaner, valve covers, master cylinder. That said, I hope Volo gets every penny they’re asking.

    505 Dyno Run

    617 / 604 Let me know what I won when I win.
  5. I’m way late to this party, but I’m of the opinion that something rare like an SS - especially a #s matching SS - needs to stay original. Or as original as possible, which is why I’ve been accumulating various parts to have my ‘70 put back to as close to original as possible sometime in the near future. I also believe that changing the color likely affects the value on such specimens. Both of mine have been repainted at some point, but in their born-with factory colors. Now if I was gonna Frankenstein a car that had a drivetrain or interior (or both), that wasn’t original? I’d built and paint it to suit my tastes. But like others say, at the end of the day it’s your car and you can do whatever the hell you want to it. Send pix regardless of your choice - we love pix here
  6. Now would be a good time for me to remind you how much I don’t like you.

Same here. That and the silver would be my 3rd and 2nd choices, respectively.
  8. Now I kinda feel bad for making fun of your bike. But it’s a feeling that’ll surely pass quickly 😂

Welcome!!! The first thing I would recommend for any aftermarket enhancements is painting it Shadow Gray. It’s Rob’s, Willie’s and Dennis’s favorite color on a First Gen Monte. Observe…
  10. Welcome !! Great lookin’ car. And don’t pay any attention to the detractors. We ALL know that a Shadow Gray ‘70 is the cats [censored]. And, yes… more pix are always enjoyed. Speaking of that… See? Shadow Gray wins every time 😛
  11. But it clearly states “PERFECT FIT AND FINISH”… 🤣😂 NOS/OEM (if at all possible) or bust…
  12. I’ve been told that Joe T. builds them to order. Has done 3 or 4 already.
  13. Great story and great car! Keep the progress pix coming.
  14. Well then, it’s settled. Sounds like I need to hone my skills, learn new ways to circumvent the system and keep the “FGMCC Police” on their toes. I’ll be going full Ninja Mode when you least expect it…
  15. One more I completely forgot about…
  16. I see what ya did here. But I’ll take the high road and not spoil the thread. But I’ll find ya later 🍌🍌🍌…
  17. And one more… Amy took a quick video of the dude presenting the club with the 2nd Place banner. Hopefully this one will load… IMG_5447.MOV
  18. Well, Rob… ask and you shall receive (at least 1/2)…
  19. Congrats to everyone who won awards and a hearty ‘Thank You’ to everyone involved in the behind the scenes logistics who made this event possible. While we didn’t quite get to meet and talk to everybody, it’s obvious that all present are good people and we immediately felt comfortable… well, except for when two giant bananas attacked Dennis - didn’t know what his fate would be as they locked arms with him and began to march away😂. See you all next year!
  20. Yeah, I didn’t know if he was gonna start busting out my windows or collapse into fetal position shaking and crying. Entertaining, nonetheless.
  21. Well, since you asked, Rob… these will have to do (notice Amy also hugged the cars)…
  22. PS - literally just got home after a slight detour to meet the in-laws for lunch and a couple beers. I immediately hugged both my babies as I unloaded ‘Vicky’, and told them how much I missed them.
  23. I’ll wager that I’m likely the ONLY person who brought a Ford product - originally registered as a ‘71 Monte SS - to a GM Nationals show and then park it with the stable of First Gens belonging to our club members. The many negative comments and looks of disgust were quite comical. But I actually had one gentleman complement me on the car after explaining the history of its acquisition and details surrounding how it wound up parked at Carlisle. I’ll wear pulling off this feat as a badge of honor 🤣😂
