  1. They're home made.... The originals were damaged, so I copied the pattern onto a piece of 3/16" plate steel.
  2. The 12 bolt came from a '72 El Camino. The original plates were in rough shape.
  3. Thud or a clunk ?? How good are your air shocks and rear springs ? Might just be the differential or control arms hitting the exhaust. I wound up switching to gas shocks and re routing the pipes because of a similar issue after I installed a 12 bolt. So it could just be something simple. ;

    cam choice

I've got pretty much the same set up, except with the edelbrock 1405 carb. and 3.31 gears. I like it, but recommend a torque converter about 2300-2500 stall speed. Like Cbolt said, it's all in your transmission and gears.
  5. How much lift does the new cam have ?? From the looks of the lifter you have, it appears that it would have issues at any rpm.... Lifters shouldn't have different diameters like that. Any float and the edge will catch and shrapnel your engine.
  6. The car Kendig set up was so the owner could take his son on a road trip from Chicago to L.A. on route #66.
  7. You could get the missus to rig them up with some aroma therapy candles..... Maybe apple pie scent would be nice. I don't think they've come up with "94 octane" scent yet.
  8. Have you flushed your coolant system recently ???
  9. It was a "Blues Brothers" replica, right from Mt. Pleasant, Illinois. '75 Monaco.
  10. Worth the mention... lol And that's $5000.00 Canadian dollars.
  11. Caught an episode of "Bitchin' Rides" the other night where they reconditioned one of these cars...... Interesting.
  12. There's one up here on Kijiji for $5000.00............ If you're looking for a project.
  13. Same here.... That's why I like a short driveway.
  14. Many men and women from many countries came together to stand against united against oppression..... I'd like to thank them all.
  15. So that's what that thing is for ?? It came with the house, but I grew up on a farm, so I'd never seen one..... lol
  16. Actually, my shed is full of bits and pieces I've collected over the years..... So if I can't build it from there, I take the part to the store. Most staff these days usually just blankly stare at me when I tell them what I'm looking for.
  17. Silly question, but are you accounting for the fact that one "groove" is missing so as to create a key way to match up alignment ?
  18. 200r4's and th350's both use a 27 spline output shaft.... And the 2004r is basically the same casing as a th350, excepting for the extra re enforcement at the tail shaft, which can cause contact issues depending on which yoke you use.
  19. I also added pressure and temp. gauges..... Just for piece of mind.
  20. Montelishi already had an added aftermarket transmission cooler, so I just tied into that. But remember to change the fittings at the transmission. '86 will be metric thread and everything else is SAE. If you don't, you will get leaks.
  21. Again.... Sunday morning..... I'm still sizing lines by the size of wrench used to undo the fittings.
  22. Don't forget to check the vacuum line to the transmission...... Sometimes they lose their seal at the bottom end.
