  1. Back 275/60/R15 Front 235/60/R15
  2. I had a 67 Impala that I put a cast aluminum diff. cover with cooling fins on it. It allowed more oil capacity plus a drain plug.
  3. I had a knee replacement 2 years ago. Just stick with all the physical and you will be fine. Just don't kneel on the replacement ever. Good Luck and Blessings.
  4. I have a 4 row radiator and a 160 degree thermostat in my 71 Monte. Hardly goes over 180 degrees except idling on a hot day in traffic.
  5. Thanks everyone. It was a lot of work, but am very happy with the results. It drives like a new car, no wondering if you take your hands off the steering wheel. The springs that I took out were supposed to be for a 454 with ac and ordered with heavy duty suspension. my 350 in the car is the original engine. go figure?
  6. Here is my Monte after rebuilding the front suspension. Cutting 1" off the springs got a 3" drop on the front.
  7. Finished my front suspension rebuild including cutting some off the springs. Pictures to follow soon.
  8. If you do put in a 700r4 make sure it is a 1984 or newer. They started making them in 1982. From 84 on they were beffed up with a larger output shaft. I had one from 82 in a 70 monte carlo and I never liked the way it shifted. They have a throttle valve cabel that is very important to have adjusted properly and there is a special linkage depending on what carburetor you have you can't beat a TH350 or TH400. That's my opinion.
  9. In the middle of rebuilding my front suspension. Putting in proper springs.
  10. On my 70 monte the engine had a high performance camshaft that took to much vacuum. I had to install a rotory vane vacuum pump. Machined a plate to mount the pump to the frame and wired it to the ignition. It worked great. This was the car that the inspector lied about road testing the car. I had so many problems with that car I had to get rid of it. I found a Really nice 71 monte close to home. I bought it and transferred all the best best parts from the 70 before I sold it.
  11. It's probably something simple with the linkage. You're main problem will be getting the car back home if the mechanic says it won't go into gear.
  12. I use Castrol gtx 10w30 and have used different oil filters. I change the oil once a year.
  13. I agree not lifting the engine by the harmonic balancer . Put wood as large as you can under the oil pan. another thing I will add, if you rebuild or put in a new engine, always put in a New harmonic balancer.
  14. I have an Optima Red Top battery. has a 2014 date on it. I know they are expensive, but I would buy another one.
