  1. I had big line on top along the frame on my 402...you can see it cut as I was putting in my aftermarket lines.
  2. Do you have or are you installing an electric fuel pump in that location? Would be cool to have easy access to it.
  3. Looks nice. .. I like the color of the car too.
  4. Too funny...I said the same thing in one of Mike's photos that was like two years ago. The same guy must still be working there...
  5. Nice picture...hope he his doing good at the track and off the track too...

    LSA 4L80E swap 72

Awesome pump. I have had one on my car for over 13 years and not one problem.
  7. What are your goals? Are you experiencing wheel hop now? Many choices depending on the level you are trying to achieve. Starting with simple airbags in the springs to spending big $$$.
  8. Her's one place that I can think of right now...http://www.carhoods.com/ I can't link it directly but there are two links on the left of the page for our cars, it is the one for 70-77. The 70-80 link has just hoods. I hope you are good with fiberglass as it takes work to get them to line up well.
  9. Holy cow, they still make those. I have two sets of those in my basement...one was on my car for years and the other one someone gave me because they did not want them. I would never use them unless you were racing the car ONLY...they make your car ride like a rock. I could not believe how much better the ride quality was after I took them off...again I do not suggest them, but they do work as they are designed for. You can see them on my car in this photo.
  10. My 72's front marker lights (front fender lower trim lights) do blink, I looked at them yesterday...later today I am going to have to check the back ones because now I am curious.
  11. Jason, what diameter rim are you going with? I have 15x7" rims with 4" of b.s. on the front of my Monte and 15x8" on the rear with 5" of b.s. My front tires are 255/60-15's and my back now are 275/60-15's...no rubbing at all. I do have my rear lips trimmed but that was for when I ran 325/50's in the rear. With the offset I have the front and back wheel have the same appearance on the face because of the wheel widths and different b.s. I chose. P.S. my signature picture is a whole different set of tires and rims...
  12. I just reread your post...are you talking about the front fender "marker lights" or the front bumper "marker lights" aka "parking lights"? In my previous post I was referring to the bumper lights or in my case the lights next to the grill.
  13. Just this year my 72 did the same thing (front stayed lit and did not blink), back lights did blink properly. I don't even remember looking at the bulbs I just stopped at the parts store and picked up two new lamps on my way home from work one day and installed them. It solved my problem...seeing how I am an electrician you would think I would be curious as to why they stopped working but I am not...I just chucked them in the garbage...
  14. Yes, on a 15x8" rim. Just in case you did not see this thread here you go...http://www.firstgenmc.com/forums/index.php?/topic/3188-wheel-and-tire-data-base/
  15. I had a 402 in my Monte originally (then blew it up at the track) so I will say I was not interested in putting a small block in its place. Although trying to save money I was briefly considering a GM crate small block...all said and done I went with a GM crate 502, the 572 was a bit too much $$$ at the time. I bought a brand new TH400 and a Gear Vendors overdive unit, then put it all in at once. Could not be happier with my choice.
  16. Did you change the rear springs and does the car sit a lot lower now? That would cause the driveshaft to need to slide in further.
  17. I did this a few years ago, works great...

    71 monte carlo ss

I agree it does look pretty solid. The title of the thread indicates he might suggest it is an SS...
  19. Cool... Only a couple times ever did I take mine out on my birthday...seeing how it is in December...
  20. They repaved my street today...well, I had to take the Monte out and test how sticky my tires were...turns out they were not that sticky...
  21. Well I have not driven my Monte since the Eastern Meet...I had snagged my passenger side Y-cutout (behind the header) pulling out of a Chinese restaurant while I was at the meet. I had to do emergency repairs right in the middle of the street with traffic as I could not go forward or backward without damaging it worse. I managed to tie it up and drove very slowly back to the hotel...those who were at the meet knew I had my exhaust open the entire time but that night I decided I wanted some quiet so I closed them. So much for that plan...I was now as loud as ever and noone noticed when I came back, they just thought I had the exhaust open... Anyways today I put it all back together...what I thought would be fairly easy turned into a big ordeal. I have compression clamps on every joint (not u-bolts) and everyone of them managed to rotate just a little throwing the exhaust in a crazy direction. I replaced one hanger and basically had to remove the entire exhaust as I was getting no where trying to rotate it back the way it was...thank goodness I have AC in my garage/shop as it was hot out today and I was boiling mad trying to get it back together...
  22. Have fun, stay safe... Today I will be a little bit West of the cruise in Fowlerville for a "two wheel" event...
