  1. Bruce, that definitely is the snowball effect. Great photo documentation.
  2. Steve, glad you got a chance to go. Thanks for sharing.
  3. You said your car was restored prior to purchasing it. How old are your body bushings, or have they ever been replaced?
  4. Good gas shocks such as Bilstein, front and rear sway bars make a big difference. Do you have a rear sway bar on your Monte? It’s an easy bolt on part.
  5. Paul, The 1970 fuel tank was non vented, just the gas cap is vented. The 71-72 tanks had additional bungs at the front corners of the tank and were vented externally. Depending on what year your Monte is, or what fuel tank is currently in your Monte now will tell you.
  6. To our members, We have created a new “Mini Meet” area in the Forums. Please take a look at it. There are threads for each upcoming Mini Meet and a Club calendar on the right side of the page. There are 3 Mini Meets, the Eastern and Western Meets for a total of 5 Club sponsored events in 2023. This is a new Club milestone with 5 events this year, for our dues paying members. A great way to see some Monte Carlo’s, meet and spend some time with with other like Monte people and join us for some of our famous “bench racing” sessions. You can participate with or without your Monte. We hope you will come join us at one or more of these Club events in 2023. Thank you, CK
  7. Congratulations. Enjoy it !!!
  8. Congratulations Michael !! You have definitely come to the right Club for the First Generation Monte Carlo’s. We hope you like what you see and become a full fledged paying member. Enjoy your “new” Monte !
  9. Looking good !! Keep it moving forward.
  10. Happy St Patrick’s Day to all !!! I am normally marching in the NYC St Patrick’s Day parade with my brothers and sisters from the Suffolk County Firefighters Emerald Society on this fine day. But work comes first and someone has to do it. The Suffolk County Firefighters Emerald Society is made up of men and women of Irish heritage from the 110 Fire Departments within Suffolk County (Long Island, NY) that are participating members of the Emerald Society. If your watching on TV (as it is televised) this the oldest St Patrick’s Day Parade in the World, 262 years today, they will step off at 315pm. Rob, please enjoy your Fish fry today and thank you for serving your church and community. The Archdiocese of Rockville Centre, Brooklyn and Queens which oversees all of the Catholic churches of Long Island and the 5 Boros of NYC have given us dispensation today and we will be allowed to eat meat and partake in all Irish meals and customs today. So enjoy this great day and remember, if your drinking, NO driving and be safe !!!
  11. How is your timing set? Too far advanced will be hard starting too.
  12. A great story and history. Thank you for sharing it with us. Great music for sure.
  13. Excellent news. It would be nice to meet some “new members” at the Carlisle Mini Meet. Looking forward to seeing you both there.
  14. Hey Rich, Welcome to Club !! The best resource for First Generation Monte Carlo info with some entertainment too. Everyone enjoys photos. Post them as you go, or of the project your working on. It greatly helps when giving advice or answering questions. Enjoy !!!
  15. Easy Ron. Let’s get him to Carlisle and Syracuse first. They are local to Tom.
  16. So how did your first Saturday go?
  17. I would also think twice about keeping the wiring and wiper motor intact too. Most states require it to pass a DMV inspection. Unless your making a track or total show car out of it, or not drive it on the street I would leave them intact.
  18. Welcome back Duane. Let the fun begin !!
  19. Congratulations on your retirement Tom !!! Wishing you good health, happiness and more time to do the things you want. That includes playing with your Monte’s !!!
  20. Check with The Parts Place. I think they have it.
  21. It was probably what part was available that day on the assembly line. Do we know what plant those Monte’s with them came from?

Doug, I see a wheel restoration in your future.

    Wheels

Summit carries them. Wheel Vintiques is the manufacturer. 15x8 with a 5 inch backspacing is the correct size correct. I run a 275-60-15 on that rim with no fitment issues whatsoever.
