  1. Mike, I would stick with numbers matching all the way. that will be your best investment on return whether its a flip or keeper. It seems more and more people are moving towards oem and numbers matching. I did that with my 1970 396 elky and got lots of comments or stood back and listened to them.... Oh Man he kept it all original or glad to see its done right and so on... JMO Darren
  2. hahahaha Mostly True........ I know some of our members who find canadian built 4 spd cars and it doesnt matter what color it is they will buy it.. hahaha its a disease we have... no names mentioned you know who you guys are lol thanks for info Darren
  3. yep typed too fast haha 71 not 70 Darren
  4. Yes I have seen quite a few 1970 350 4 spd cars pop up for sale........ but not so many 400 4spds..... so I challenge the Monte gods that say the 1 of 80 1970 350 4spds is the rarest car........... whats the number on the 400 4spds which is a 1970 only engine........ anyone....? Darren
  5. I see on Hemings there is a fella selling his 1 of 123 produced that year only, 1970 400 small block 4 speed cars. He has a Build sheet that shows 400 small block and a M20 transmission. of course its triple green hahaha what says the rarity on that to command $39,000usd ? How many members have SB 400 4spd cars I wonder........ lol another one for Doug to start tracking...... Darren
  6. Yes sorry Paul.... 1970 the box was 104 and called Engine Tune Label.. Darren
  7. Hey Paul, Box 91 on your Build sheet should be the emissions Code Box. and yes over the years and different owners sometimes the Rad top plate gets switched out for another one that looks nicer or newer, not realizing the code changed Darren
  8. Hi Paul, I went into our Muscle Car shop here in town Called Classic Performance who orders from opgi and the parts place inc and Classic Industries stateside and went through the Stickers with them on the computer. We could see the stickers and each Code of Letters on them so we got the correct ones..... It just really helps when you walk in and state what you are after right down to Letters stateing the emissions code and they seem to help you no issues as you know what your talking about and are specific. as I have seen them just sell decals in any fashion if you dont state the code.... they wont be able to tell you what code you need, you have to tell them what ones you are after. so if you have the rad plate decal or original carb still then you are set... Darren
  9. Willie, on the stickers you showed us up top the Two Letter on each one need to match each other and Yours dont. the Two letter will also match your Carb and the Decal that goes on the Rad top plate. The white one there will say the size of the engine lets say 454 and then right by that 454 there will be Two letters. Those need to match the Carb and Air Cleaner and the Stickers on it. They are the Letter codes associated with the State/Province that the Monte was made in for Emissions Laws. They took into consideration the Laws and Air levels or what they refer to as Sea Level. those states/provinces that differ in height elevation had different emission laws, of course Cali has there way over the top laws hence Smog control devices on some of our cars..... So your CQ and DK dont match... Darren
  10. Welcome Back Larry, We seemed to have had a Lot of Members stray away to FB and don't check in. Glad you found your way back Larry, are you re-assuming your Monte Classifieds...lol Darren
  11. Hey Kevin, Looks great so Far. Lots of work to do but thats the enjoyment. I am also a member of the 67-72 club as well and have a 1971 gmc shortbed fleetside...... Good luck Kevin I will watch that post. Darren
  12. Welcome Zeb.....! Yes Code 19 in 1972 was Special Order only and is as mentioned Black. I also have an account on the 67-72 Club as well....... 71 C10 Shortbed Custom Deluxe... Darren
  13. So on the Canadian GM Docs Steve the only way to get Vaughns name changed to yours as silly as it sounds is to call George Zappora or email him and order the GM docs again from him. the Doc forms will ask who is making the Inquiry and address and such so when its researched and found on micro fish its then printed out with Your Inquiry info and then sent off to you. when I did mine with Larry Demmings help it was $129cdn and took 6 days and it came all done. kebin will have to do the same now with my 71ss too. hope that helps. and the registration on the car should be a piece of cake but Take lots of pictures into get plates because after 10 years BC purges history into a different file. So when they first search nothing will come up and they will assume its an out of province car. but when you give and show them the Plate they now have something to visualize that it was registered in bc and look in purge files and reactivate the vin and re issue you plates without OOP issues.. Darren
  14. Hey I recognize That car............. hahahaha....... So it Travelled 6000 miles yet the odometer didnt move at all LOL...... Great Steve.. Darren
  15. Yeah I would say thats the one....... same color wires and also same fitting end. Darren
  16. I will go and look on my 71ss but am guessing its for the Vacuum/electric high idle plunger thats attached to the front of the carb on drivers side.. Darren
  17. Dan Janes also has one here at the fgmcc, these are Sales and Marketing Cars that were used by the sales marketers from each plant to go to the gm dealers and for brochure design delivery and advertising and marketing. yes executive cars.... There was a high optioned white 70 monte that sold on Ebay and was one of the same and sold for $26,000usd it was a SB car, used by a Plant office Executive... real cool as well. Darren
  18. Hey Carl, My 71SS in my signature picture has the Factory Style G70 Wide Oval O's on it and thats the factory size for my monte in 71. Mine came with the rally wheels that took the G70, the 78's came on none rally wheels I believe but correct me if I am wrong..... They measure 27.4 inches tall. Darren
  19. Hey Antoine, if you remove the door panel and have the window all the way up almost. there are Squeeze plugs on the ends of the PW motor and PDL actuator. when squeezing the plugs gently wiggle from side to side as you gently pull and they will come undone. Then you can gently align all the wires from the door switches to inside the door and then open the door and remove the two screws or plastic push pins at 12 oclock and 6 oclock positions on the rubber boot between the door. once those are off gently pull the rubber boot and slowly pull the wires through the 2" hole from inside the door that you released. Darren

  23. So we have tried this in the past with Comedy shows and shows from the 70's and haven't seen this done for a while so I thought it would be cool to rehash some old TV Police Shows/Detective Shows that used to be on TV Prior to 1990. Lets see how many can remember or see what names pop up just for fun, try to list just the one and see how this goes........ revisit if you remember another one later but this will give others a chance to chime in....... Hill Street Blue's Darren
