  1. Got it, thanks Scott, I see what I need to do.
  2. Anyone that has done the swap, what did you end up doing with the ebrake cable? I'm thinking I can shorten the hook that holds the cable to the cross member and put a shoot sleeve on the ebrake adjustment to give a bit more room to tighten the cable.
  3. https://adirondacknationals.com/ September 7th-10th in Lake George, NY. Registration opens up on Feb 1 and it fills up quickly. It's a huge event that takes over Lake George but they only allow 1,500 cars into the show so registering early is recommended. Hotels fill up too. I have a room at https://www.bluelagoonresort.com/ They are one of the few hotels that has trailer parking. If interested, the website may not indicate vacancy, call the hotel.

    Gas Overflow

I recall that the springs were a popular anti-siphon measure back in the 70’s.
  5. another thumbs up for Turnswitch, installed them last week, fit like the originals.
  6. The shop driveshaft guy said he prefers measurements. Thanks for the heads up on Denny’s, I’ll get the measurements tomorrow to pass along.
  7. The shop called this afternoon. He put the driveshaft on the machine to balance it and he found it is bent. So, time for a new one.
  8. Thanks Joe, I just dropped at a local driveshaft shop. He will replace the yoke, u-joints, and balance it. Like you said, it’s cheap insurance.
  9. I’m swapping in a 2004r and found that the stock slip yoke weight interferes with the transmission tail shaft. I’m going to order a slip yoke without the weight, should I have the driveshaft balanced since I’m removing the weight?
  10. Here is a little more about Steve. https://stevemags.com/ He lives in central Massachusetts I believe.
  11. Looks like a nice survivor. https://www.hemmings.com/listing/1971-chevrolet-monte-carlo-768793?utm_medium=email&utm_source=mus_weekly&utm_campaign=

    Radio.

I just installed a radio from this company. Looks identical to stock and has modern features. https://vintageautoradio.com/
  13. Thanks CK and Rob. My room is now booked. This is the perfect hotel for anyone towing and it’s convenient to to the show, gas, and ice cream! I had a great time with cub members at this show and highly recommend it to anyone considering it.
  14. I bought mine here: https://www.eatondetroitspring.com/
  15. I thought it looked great in Syracuse, I didn’t notice any flaws. As the owner though, you know every fine detail that we casual lookers would never see. Best of luck with the update!
  16. I'm about to do this swap myself. Based on what I've read, a 2004r is 27 spline(?)
  17. Great. According to Parts Place, the 70 shroud fits a 70 Chevelle or bb 70 Monte.
  18. hmm,, Parts place shows one part number for a 70 big block shroud and two different part numbers for 71 and 72. 70 appears to be a one piece shroud and 71/72 are two piece shrouds. 70 big block 71/72 and 71/72

    POA Valve

I installed this valve but have not had the system charged yet. Be aware that the connection to charge the system faces down at a 45 degree angle, not up. I don't think it is going to be a problem, there looks to be plenty of room to connect the machine hose. All other connections are in the stock location.
  20. Better pic. I was mistaken, Legendary seams don’t line up.
