  1. I checked the part catalog and it looks like the shifter cable for all 68-72 Chevelle used the same shifter cable.
  2. Willie, the parts book show the cleaners and filters were the same for all three years
  3. Looks great, I need to replace my headliner, I'm not sure if I have the guts to do it myself. Where did you buy yours??
  4. I think off an 80's Skylark. I used to work for a Buick Dealership. Maybe a little heat gun or hair dryer to loosen the two sided tape.
  5. Does the speedo spin? You should be able to remove the cable and spin the speedo by hand to see if the needle moves. I would go ahead and try the new cable you have. I hope that helps..good luck.
  6. I had kind of forgot that mine had smaller magnets until I looked at the website. I'm not sure if there was some adjustment for the factory speakers. Maybe someone else will chime in.
  7. I bought a complete retainer kit from the parts place and they were included and fit perfect
  8. Looks like a cool place for a car show. Thanks for sharing.
  9. Willie, I bought my replacements from Classic car Speakers http://www.turnswitch.com/speakers.htm . They use a smaller magnet as you can see in the pictures and I believe they also sent the little brackets for the mounting bracket. I think when I mounted them they stick up a bit but the cover did fit. They aren't cheap but they sound original so to speak. Take a look.
  10. Willie, I got a pair of speakers with the original size magnets but I can't remember from who. I think I mounted the left speaker and lifted or bent the mounting brackets up slightly so it clears. So the speaker angles up but the dash pad still fits properly. If that makes sense.
  11. Looks like a beautiful area, have a good and safe weekend!
  12. The proportion valve is mounted on the frame.
  13. Great looking cars, looks like a great show. Thanks for sharing...
  14. Check out the electrical section. Rob posted a stickey post that shows all of the diagrams...good luck....
  15. So I'm still in search of a picture of the original 1970 454 picture. I haven't heard from Leo. I'm not in a big hurry because the car runs ok but I would still like to put it back to stock. Thanks Larry
  16. Thanks guys, the 72 may be different. The diagram looks different than the one I have but looks like the 402 bracket but the connector and wires on the solenoid looks different. My connector at the firewall is a single black wire with a purple stripe. I guess my hope is that Leo has the correct set up from a 70 BB. I'll let you all know, thanks again.
  17. No rush, I will wait for Leo, hoping he has the bracket included. Thanks
  18. Willie, the pic of the 4 bbl now makes sense. I don't see that page number in my 70 assembly manual but may not need it. The page I have showed the bracket mounting to a head bolt stud or something. If you have the sheet that would be good to take a look at. You've been a great help. PS your engine is looking good. Love all the detail..
  19. I found another diagram UPC M40 Sheet A9 in the manual, says RP0 L78 & L89 but the sheet has cancelled on it. I would still like to see a picture of a car will the original solenoid mounted. Or maybe Leo has a complete setup.
  20. I found the diagram for the small block but didn't see the big block. I'll look again, thanks
  21. Thanks Willie, do you have a picture of the solenoid mounted to the carb? I looked at mine last night and can't figure out how I would mount it. Leo is looking to see if he has the whole setup.
