  1. If I remember corectly instructions say to replace the resistor wire from ignition switch to coil to a non resistor wire. You need appx. 12 volts with key on, not direct 12 volts all the time. (thats very important) I no longer use my carb seloniod so I just pulled my voltage from there and it works fine. Like I said follow instructions and there tech line is good too if needed. I called them and asked about using the seloinde voltage just to be sure. Good luck .
  2. I did it several years ago and not sorry I did. Its a fairly straight forward instalation just read and follow instructions.
  3. Welcome very nice car you have there
  4. Not sure what your refering to but did it have 12 volts originally? If it only had 6.5 and has 12 now it may cause some damage I assume. I think in the instructions it says to change the wire from ignition switch to coil but as long as you have 12 volts with key on and 0 with key off you should be good. Its scarg doing something new for sure but im sure your fine.
  5. I used krylon paint and primer in one, but I did the inside of the fins on mine black. It seems to be holding up well.
  6. Mine was too, I just removed it, havent noticed any problems
  7. May need a new balancer, probably just set it by ear, get it where it runs best for now.
  8. Sounds like vibration damper has turned some. It can happen if it the original one.
  9. I no longer use the carburetor seloniod as I've changed the carb so I used that wire and works fine.
  10. That looks pretty darn nice congrats on your purchase.
  11. I belive the factory voltage is about 6 volts, the pertronix requires 12. Read and follow the instructions there tech line is prety helpful also. I did contact them when I did mine. It is a pretty straight forward instlation.
  12. No I belive only mopar had them, but you do have to run a new hot wire to coil, not a resistor wire. You need 12 volts to the coil with that set up or close to it. I only have 11.5 for some reason but works fine.
  13. Back in the day when I was just a pup and we did these all day long we did cut them off with a torch. Or use a 1/2 impact gun and go forward and break them off.
  14. Check seal on dipstick tube, with the car not running the fluid will be sitting in the bottom and will leak if that seal is bad.
  15. I think they used that dum dum stuff around that. Not totally sure but anything to seal it up would be good. I actually didnt use anything on mine as it dont really see bad weather any more.
  16. 255 60 is about the widest you'll want to do on 7 inch rims. Stock springs with a 1 to 1 1/2 spacer should do it. I used cargo coils on mine but I carry stuff in trunk for camping.
  17. Ok I can't believe no one has asked yet so I will, exactly what it the color? I really do like that color im thinking maybe flame blue, a ferd color???
  18. Welcome abaord very nice color you chose
  19. Pertronix makes a conversion that you put right in your dist. Easy to follow instructions too. I put mine in about five or six years ago and havent thought about it since.
  20. I would have used legendary if they would have made covers for mine, at that time they didnt make bench seat front covers. They are easy to work with and for me they are close too within a half houre drive.
