  1. We went to are last car show for the year, yesterday. Went the long way home after the show to burn off the full tank of gas I put into it that morning. Well this morning pumped out the 3/4 of a tank from the '70 and transfered it to the '06 Monte. Nice full tank now in the wifes car.
  2. My Dad had a '76 Vette with the engine being blue. He told me that in '76. GM ran out of the Orange mid way through the '76 production year and switched to the Blue color.
  3. Also, check that your belts are tight. Could slip at high RPMs
  4. I dusted mine off, Fixed th wire for my left rear reverse light. Then put the monte back in the garage and covered it up. Only 2 more car shows for me in Oct. then on to getting it ready for the winter projects.
  5. Looks good Steve. I have a set of 255/60 R15's that were ont the car when I bought it. I would like to put them on some 15x8 Rallys this winter. I am going to look for 2 more 15x8 rallys next weekend at auto swap meet.
  6. I put my Corvette Rally's back on and took it for a little ride.
  7. Only in my '70 Owners manual does the hint of a convertible exist.

  10. This Subject made Be Cool's Facebook page.
  11. I did the 350 to 454 swap and used my 350 shroud. I have about a 2 inch gap between the alternator and the shroud. I also think with the way i have it set up. It helps keep it running cooler. I am running about 170 to 180 on the temp.
  12. Going through my '70's owners manual. I thought it was pretty cool reading the instructions on how to open the convert top. Where the switch is located on the dash. And all the other cool stuff that is in the manual. I did this when I got kicked out of the house and sat in the garage for a few hours or 5or6 hours. Oh, and the front bench does not make a very good bed.
  13. I think you will like it that way. Allot less money spent to.
  14. I run an Auburn posi unit with 3.73 gear in my 10 bolt. I have a Big Block 454 that is bolted up to an turbo 350. No boxed control arms. I have never pay'd any attention to my gas mileage. But as long if I dont abuse it it seems pretty decent. But when I do get on it. It likes to go wicked sideways.
  15. Very cool. Good luck. Love the air under both cars.
  16. Very Nice job. I said "WOW" when I saw those pictures. Great job in such little time.
  17. I also have the Hooker Header comp one's to. In order for me to install them on my 454. I had to take my shims out of the upper control arm and move it out and disconnect the steering shaft to get them in. I didn't move my break proportioning valve. I have not had any braking issues by not moving it away from the header heat.
  18. If you ever want to pull the complete dash assembly out. Ground Up, has some excellent tech pictures and directions of step by step removal of the dash and all its components. I used this to help me replace my dash over the winter.
  19. I run BF Goodrich 275/60 R15. Mounted on 8" rally's on the rear. 245/60 R15 front. I also have a set for the Monte that are 255/60 R15 for all the way around.
  20. I have the Hooker comps Headers on my Big Block to and have no issues with dragging. I run taller tires than it looks like your car has also. My car was a small block car before i put in the big block and the front-end didn't lower that much ether.
