How can I get a built Sheet for my 1970  Monti Carlo built in Flint it's supposed to be a factory 4 speed and I'm not sure how it can be proven

Nothing built in Flint has ever been proven to have a build sheet. The only plant that actually threw them out like they were supposed to. Unfortunately for us with Flint built cars. 😓

Isn't the Vin supposed to be stamped in transmission like it is on motor?

Yes, they certainly are supposed to match the cars vin.

No build sheets in a Flint car but there are still ways to verify a factory 4-speed

1. VIN stamped on the 4-speed transmission. More details here.

2. VIN and proper code on the engine block.

3. Code for the transmission on the Protectoplate. Not common that the protectoplate is still with the car but some are.

4. If originally sold by a Canadian dealer you can get the GM Canada paperwork showing the option list.

I do not have a build sheet either, but I went by the engine VIN and code. The last six numbers of the engine Vin match the last six numbers of the vehicle Vin on my car so that means original engine. The engine code the last three letters.CNJ. Those letters decode to 300 hp 350 AFX body, and manual transmission so mine is an original four-speed. The transmission was replaced by previous owner. It was replaced with the correct M20 4 speed but it is from 1968 serial number P8C11 and the Vin number showed it came out of an Oldsmobile but that doesn’t change the fact that it is an original four-speed.
