Radiator fan shroud

Does anyone know should the fan shroud on a 71 monte be painted or cleared it looks like there was something on mine and I want to do it right so anyones help is appreciated

If you don't care about originality so much, paint it Gloss Black. grin

 

Otherwise, like Dave said no paint or clear, just natural.

My apologies if I'm hijacking this thread but I have a shroud question as well. How far is a stock fan, non-clutch supposed to go into the shroud? I have a small block non ac.

I would say it just needs to be in the shroud or just about in, that is where the clutch fan is on mine. (Big block with air)

My 70 is the stock small block setup with a non-clutch fan. Going by memory, a little more than half of the blade is in the shroud.

Guys..Guys...let's be correct now....you're referring to the tunnel, it is attached to the shroud...on ours the fan sits just inside the tunnel (big block).... grin
