Winston Wolf Posted September 23, 2010 Share Posted September 23, 2010 The parking brake just pushes your brake pads against the drum, so nothing to wear aside from the normal pads/drums. Canuck Posted September 23, 2010 Share Posted September 23, 2010 If you are unsure when the rear shoes were done last, it's probably a good idea to check them. This light should be on with very little movement of the parking brake pedal. The switch is on the parking brake pedal assembly. kc8oye Posted October 4, 2010 Share Posted October 4, 2010 find yourself a nice big open parking lot somewhere (or an empty road) you need to build a little bit of speed in reverse.. nothing crazy.. maybe 10 or 15 mph.. and the firmly apply the brakes.. don't need to jam them on.. but firmly.. this _should_ force the auto-adjusters out. might even work better using the parking brake instead of the service brake.
