  2. Welcome. Great group here. That’s a dang nice car. It cleaned up well for a basic wash. Looking forward to seeing your progress. If you become a dues paying member of the club the Western meet is happening later this summer. Great show, great people and awesome Monte’s. Welcome again.
  3. Thanks. Looking forward to getting it back up and running. All original except for the wheels, I believe. Factory A/C also.
  4. Welcome Michael! Great looking Monte to inherit and start with.
  5. I have acquired a 4 Position Driver Power Buck Seat Track that has been disassembled, cleaned, lubricated, reassembled and Tested! Track performs quietly in Full Back/Forward, Up/Down positions. The Power Seat Control Switch operates flawlessly & firmly in ALL Positions with chrome face in used average appearance. Included is Original Transmission Drive Belt, Transmission Cover, no cracks, no breaks, gouges or deteriorating material lose . The seat Apron (no damage) affixing the Power Seat Switch & (2) Toe Guards included. (1) Toe Guard Split down corner with (2) places material broken & missing - (Used black electrical tape to Secure) while the other is in perfect condition with Both useable with retainers included. The cleaning was done on track assembly's using wire brush(s) as the amount of rust was minimal & really cleaned up nicely where was able to get at for a Factory Appearance (no clear coat or other application used on Tracks). I did media blast the Transmission/Motor Plate bridging both Tracks and the rear Up/Down rear actuator arm media blasted. The transmission was opened, pieces removed and those parts lubricated with Vaseline & replaced. The Motor was opened one end and again, Vaseline used to lubricate where applicable. The Forward/Back Drive Motor Up/Down Drive lubricated and both Drive Cables Lubricated. Used Graphite to lubricate Seat Tracks completing the renovation. I have no prior information where it come out of or how used! I can attest to how it operates today with ALL Functions Operating easily and completely. I am offering it up to any Member who has use for it with ALL components as described above. The Power Cable to fuse block appears to have been cut and not sure if had a connector attached where cut. Used a set of Jumper Cables to power/ground Unit for Testing. Power Seat Track ran smoothly full forward/back and full up/down positions as indicted earlier. I will offer to a Club Member at $595.00 & any shipping costs yet determined. Am going to Club Western Meet in September and can deliver there to avoid shipping cost for those attending the 2024 Western Meet if interested. Photo's are actual Unit. If I had missed anything, just shoot me a PM & will reply ASAP. 1st who respond's with interest retains 1st right to purchase at price identified in Post, then 2nd, 3rd ect!! I have more Pic's available if needing more Visuals....... Doug

Welcome to the group Steve you’ve come to the right place for information and knowledge on the FGMC. Very good to hear your winning the fight with cancer thoughts and prayers for you. Nice pair of Monte’s.
  11. Just get in touch with jft69z (Joe)..... He'll set you up. Welcome to the show.
  12. Thanks for the replies. This is actually my fourth first gene Monte Carlo. Some of you may have seen my last one. I was told some photos showed up on the internet. It was a 72’ custom one owner car. I was hit by a tractor trailer in Florence SC on way to the Run to the Sun show in Myrtle Beach. I think it showed up when searched Monte Carlo vs tractor trailer or something like that. Love these cars. My first car in high school been hooked ever since. I tried becoming a dues paying member a few years ago but I think there was an issue in making that happen but I will definitely try again. Bryan

Steve, I sent you a private message, I have an extra compressor that I might part with. One of the members here (Overdrive) reproduces the brackets. As good as original or better. Let me know.

Thank You714024speed.and 420 ponies, everyone has such fantastic cars also. and happy birthday 420 ponies. note although I go by steve, s.maug to everyone is just because i like dragons. please don"t think me a dufus. ha ha Since my family made me retire in 2021 after my stroke "yeah i had a stroke too" even though ive basically recovered from that we still farm. corn beans cattle hogs and chickens. I do miss the day job of the dealership I worked at for over 35 years. guess I"m really not retired. Ever since i saw my classmate"s red on red 350 powered bucket seat and console 70 gem when I was 17 I fell in love with first gen monte"s. when he wrecked it and it went to the junkyard i almost cried, found my first one that summer . never looked back. although i have collected 8 other 50, 60, and 70"s vehicles and motorcycles, farm equipment, argo 8-wheeler ect., my 2 monte"s stand alone as my most beloved and greatest treasures. should have just collected monte carlo"s. actually still might as I would like to own a 71 and a 72, maybe, one never knows. wink wink in case anyone knows where those can be found. saw many go to the crusher in my life and the rust monster got the rest. Illinois isn"t kind, my ss from florida and 402 from texas. excellent examples. very fortunate. if anyone knows of a air compressor and bracket, for my SS, working or non working I would be interested. the owner I got it from removed because it was inop and wasn"t able to find it when I purchased the car some 40 years ago. also both factory air cleaners arn"t correct in both my cars. both run excellent. the SS stays at the farm in Illinois and the 402 here In florida. the 402 car is 32,000 mile texas car and i would say i will never take it north. we live very rural and i would never drive it on the gravel roads we have up there. when i get my SS repainted i"m putting it up in a building i"ll build especially for my collection, never to gravel road drive it again. I"ll haul to meets and such. that"s where the daily driver for my area hasn"t been found and purchased yet. so any help on that is greatly appreciated. whew! guesss i"ve about bored everyone to tears. let me recharge and I promise the dragon will spew Monte Carlo fire once again. thank you all for listening, communicating, and being my new friends.
  15. Yes, ride height and stiffness can be adjusted. The ones you have a link to are single adjustable from what you are describing i would look into double adjustable shocks for even more refinement.
  16. Sorry, forgot to quote ya.. On Big Red, can you adjust both ride height and make it super stiff independently? So here's what I'm thinking IF I can adjust both...these are rated for 1900-2100lbs. Which is an estimate on my front end. Stock iron headed BB is 2128lbs. https://www.summitracing.com/parts/aax-ab2fms
  17. On Big Red, can you adjust both ride height and make it super stiff independently?
  18. You can get different spring rates with the coilovers from drag racing to road course and every in between. Also get the double adjustable shock and get infinite adjustability. Here is a pic of the springs in "Barn Find" the spring rates should be on the moog website.
