  3. Hey shoassales thanks for the compliment...the tires are mickey thompson sprtsman radials and measure 29x15-20..sorry no more pics avail at the moment....the tire was just placed there to see how it looks..I have now cut out 4 inches of the trunk to allow room..there will be1 1/2 from lip to tire and the same from tire to frame/wheelwell..it looks like I will be tubbing it..a little
  4. I hope SANTA will bring him lots of beer and wings for his efforts

  7. well I looked at that 1/4....then spent all day trying to unweld my trailer hitch from the mount..took 2 hrs to get the pin out...i'm in trouble for the rest tomorrow..lucky the wifes honda is available to tow a chipper..cheers
  8. yesterday I made the breath stealing cut to remove my pass. side 1/4 panel and made the matching cut on the new 1/4. and then made a paper template to mock removing 4" of trunk and floor pan on the inner wheel house to eventually fit my semi-fatty tires..today I took my kiddies to a local car show and got a great referral for getting my axle narrowed..great show and met a fellow member there too...although Larry (lost n found) was strangely not in attendance
  9. Finally...finally got a fender sanded to bare metal and had to go through bondo almost 1/2 inch thick to do so..glad I have those lower patch panels...#2 tomorrow,,hopefully less painful
  10. Good to know Jared...one of my kids took a piece of trim from my stock pile because it looked like a shiney wand`` and left it outside this winter...well the snowblower ate it..won`t need it for a while...actually quite some time

    Dash pad

sort of on topic...has anyone ever re-covered their own dash pad???..getting one fixed up here is non existant unless I want the 8 hr round trip to leo's to buy one or sending to the states for a re-do
  13. I appreciate the kudos of encouragement gents..and with that ....well I finally got the drivers 1/4 on..yahoo..my oldest lad said today he can't wait to be dropped off at high school and get out of this car..(I'm thinking he will want this for grad..in 5 years..that's too soon for me)
  14. Ahhh what a gorgeous weekend..took the kids camping in the back yard..copious amounts if coffee and bacon..got a 20 pack of cut-off disks..on sale...and NOW I will start my 1/4 panel work..burn 1 in and cut the other off ...SOOO envious of those that are rolling..even got a tear when I passed a 72 on the highway.....maybe for my 50th it'll be almost done
  15. Ok...so just out of curiosity what is the average price to re-chrome a bumper down there???..I got a price of almost 900.00 up here..ouch!!!..I was like W.T.*. ???
  16. some members may want your spare parts as to keep their cars original as possible...even rebuilding original parts that are cheaper to buy newish (rebuilt).they fit on other cars too
  17. I concur..even though I don't have an SS..just an opinion
  18. knew I have seen it lately http://www.cardomain.com/ridepost/6142825/1972-chevrolet-monte-carlo/
  19. sounds about correct..just measured mine after fitting new trunk and 1/4 in..that is without the wheelwell though..the max tire that can go in there is just a tad over 12 though..there is a member here that trimmed the lip and has a hair clearence for his tires....try the tire database for more info
  20. Yes rob it is a bit punky in that spot..I am going to patch it due to the fact I already purchased my 1/4ers..the vinyl top will cover it up anyhooo. and yes those are the 20's...15 wide so I will have to cut into that new trunk panel AGAIN..about 5-6 inches..just in case I want to go to 18's in the future..no mini tub full backhalf..my frame is as bad as the sail panel from the rear wheel back.in fact it broke in half at the body mount just past the rear wheel..I have welded it back in place
