  1. Took my Torque Thrust wheels to the powder coater. I love polished aluminum wheels but hate the maintenance.
  2. I sent a small flat rate package a couple months back to Canada and the cost wasn't great but not obscenely priced. I want to say between $20-30.
  3. I'll be renewing next week on payday.
  4. I just got tired of the precut sets either having that one wire that no matter where you put it was way too long and the one that was way to short to go anywhere.
  5. I've always use the trim to fit kits with great results.
  6. Hit up one of the last cruises for the year. Not sure if I'll take it to the last cruise of the year or take one of my other cars.
  7. I'm hoping to have the engine and transmission done by then.
  8. I've thought of using a 72 grill but put the driving lights in the 71 bumper instead but I really like the 71 grille over the 72.
  9. I'm looking to add some LED driving lights to my car for cruising those back country roads at night and looking for ideas to discretely add some. I'd normally mount them behind the grille but seeing that 71s have some pretty tight spacing I feel like I'd just be lighting up the backside of the grille.
  10. Rebuilt the front brakes and finally got the QA1 coilovers on the rear to compliment the front and took it out for the local cruise night. Feels really good driving down the road now. Next step redo the seat mounts to get the front seats lower in the car.
  11. I finally drove mine with single adjustable QA1 coilovers front and rear set on the soft side of street handling setting and love it. The car feels really planted and stable with the 15" wheels and tires. I can't wait until I drive it with the 17" and 18" wheels and tires.
  12. I think you're going to want some better heads, something that flows at least 180.
  13. Just got this together and about ready to go in.
  14. Got the new engine pretty much ready to drop in. Specs are balanced rotating assembly with a factory steel 350 crank and flat top hypereutectic pistons. Top end is a Comp HE276HR roller cam, Brodix IK180 heads, Summit Racing stainless roller rockers and a Performer RPM Air Gap intake. Calculations put it in the 390-420hp range and about the same in torque with a meaty torque curve. Backed up with the TKO600 5spd and 3.55 rear gear it ought to really wake up the car.
  15. I've actually been working on my K5 Blazer rather than my Monte. My plan is to have the Blazer in cruising shape so I have a playtoy while I do some major work on the Monte.
  16. I used a combo of UMI Performance front and rear arms and sway bars and QA1 coilover shocks. I haven't installed the rear coilovers yet and plan on adding front and rear UMI frame braces. I have about 4.5-5 degrees positive caster and lowered about 2" all the way around.
  17. I did that with my uncle's GTO chassis. Talk about a noodle.
  18. I went with tubular a-arms and coilovers on mine and along with a modified alignment it's a huge difference in handling.
  19. I've been watching Adam12 and Emergency quite a bit lately and you can see 1st gen Montes every so often.
  20. Why not a TH400 and a Gear Vendors O.D. unit? It can be set up to act like a 6spd trans. https://www.gearvendors.com/index.html
  21. Give these guys a call https://redheadsteeringgears.com/ I have one in my 71 and love it
  22. Use a bit of this. https://www.amazon.com/Loctite-37424-Strength-Retainer-6-milliliter/dp/B0002KKTIG
